Memory Maker - link before you get to the parks!

I ordered it when I booked my package as well, so if I understand correctly, there is nothing to do until I check in?

This is what it says on MDE:

Your Memory Maker Photos
View and share your vacation memories.
So you’ll be able to view all your photos, be sure any cards and MagicBands you use at photo locations are linked to your account. Don’t forget to download the photos you wish to keep before they expire.

Can I link it to more than one magic band? There are four of us on the package and it might be nice to have if we are separated. Otherwise we'll just get different cards and I will link them after.

Thanks!

I am not sure why the op had to jump through so many hoops. I ordered my tickets and MM two weeks before i went and was told to pick them up at will call. I went to guest relations in DTD last Saturday and picked up my ticket and MM card and started taking pics immediately. Everything was there.

My goal was to take as many pics in 3 days time as I could so I got 140 pics which ended up being $1 per pic. Thought I did pretty good. :thumbsup2

When I ordered MM online I got an email with a confirmation number. I was able to link Memory Maker to my MDE account using that confirmation number. I hope that's all I needed to do!

That's exactly what I did and it linked just fine. In fact we had an early morning ADR the first park day and there was no time to pick up MM so we got some pics and they gave us a PP card. Later the same day I picked up MM at Town Hall and had them link the PP card I collected earlier to it. It was just fine. The only thing they weren't sure about was a ride photo from Space Mountain so I walked back over there with the ride photo number and they put it on my MM no problem.

I'm pretty sure it links to everyone in your groups MB. We didn't have MB this trip but I saw lots of people with them and the photographer could scan anyone in the groups MB. I know this because there are times like Main st for example where we stopped at every photographer and would have the same family in front of us at each stop and sometimes they would scan Mom and next time child etc. or Epcot character spot etc.

We are offsite and had trouble with ride photos when separated. Our teen DS was off with friends and wanted ride photos. EE gave him a ride card and he usually had no trouble getting the ride photos but tonight at TT they refused to add the photo to his card. Other ride CM's seemed confused but always added the photo for him but not tonight. Does anyone know how this piece is supposed to work?

If he has the ride number and if you are the main person I would suggest going to the ride yourself and having them put it on the card. They're supposed to have the photos for 48 hours. If it's not possible to go back to the ride the second option is to visit a photo center such as Town Hall with the MM card and the ride photo number and see if they can add it. I've heard of people calling them but sadly I don't have any information about who to call etc.

I too opted to pick up at Will Call and was confused on this matter. I'm still confused after chatting with a CM on DW.com Here is our conversation:

Lindy: I linked my Memory Maker on My Disney Experience with the confirmation code sent to me via email. Do I still need to go to Will Call to activate?

DXXXXXX: Hello Liny, I would be delighted to assist you.

DXXXXXX: If you have opted to collect your Memory Maker® at Will Call, you will not be able to link it prior to arrival. If you linked it, there is no reason to go to will call.

Lindy: I did opt to collect it at Will Call but I used the confirmation code on MDE. So since it's linked already that means I actually don't have to go to Will Call and it's already on my Magic Band?

DXXXXXX: if you linked it, it is already attached to your MagicBand so you are fine.

Lindy: Ok, thank you.

So what was the point of having the confirmation sent at all other than by email if it could be linked on your MB? (That is assuming you have one)

I think I would still pick up the card just in case. I know it's not the same thing but I saw some people trying to enter the park with MB and it wasn't working and they had left their tickets back in their room so they didn't even have them as a back up.

The MB will probably work but just in case it doesn't it's nice to be able to pull out the card as a back up.

Good idea. Thank you.

I just ordered MM for mY daughter for her b day trip in sep.

I believe when I set mine up it asked who it should link it to and I had the option of just me or everyone in my party.

I think the problem was no one knew what they were talking about. Epcot guest relations told me to go to the camera center, the camera center told me go back to guest relations. Looking back, if they just would have told me, here is your MM card, link it to your MDE and you'll be set, all of the hassle would have been avoided. The biggest thing that concerned me was the man telling me "if the photos taken today are not linked to your account before you leave the park you'll loose all of those photos." I didn't want a full day of photos to be gone.

Also looking back, if someone would have told me that anything scanned to my magic band or any photo pass I collected would eventually all be linked to MM once that is activated, that would have eliminated concern also.

I would definitely still go to will call and pick up the card, just in case. I choose will call and they never gave me a confirmation code, so I had to go pick it up to get the number to link. If you've already linked it and it shows your MM profile on MDE, you are probably ok, but I'd still want to have that card if it were me.

I have the same package with free MM and do not have a code either. KNovacovshi, please let us know how you make out when you call so I can figure out if I need to call also.

I'm hoping I can have it all set up before we leave too!

Thanks!

So I called to verify, and just to make sure I called twice, lol, and both times advised that because it is part of the package it will be provided at check in and nothing will be mailed or emailed. :)

Thanks for checking! It's most likely because its part of a package that you could technically still cancel. Looks like people who have posted on this thread have not had any problem linking them once they get to Disney!

:cool1: :goodvibes :cool1:

I'm looking forward to my September/October trip!!!

When I changed our package to include the free MM I was advised nothing would be mailed and I would receive it when I check in. I was also advised to link it right away after receiving it. I was also told it won't show on MDE until it is linked. My package shows that it is with free MM though. I'm kind of scared now if everyone is receiving it in the mail. Maybe its because I'm in Canada? :confused3

me too!!!! freaks me out cuz its not immediately linked!!!! Hope we don't have problems!!!!
