we don't usually purchase the ride pictures? What else does memory maker include? What about the random dining, walking or attraction photos? Are there more photographers out and about to capture these moments?
Also aren't photos included in the BBB, Pirate and CRT packages? Just trying to see if this is worth it for us?

THANKS in advance!

It includes character meet and greets, out and about Photopass photographers, and some meals/events that have a Photopass photog taking pics. I don't know exactly which meals/events this includes though. I believe CRT is included, and so is 1900 Park Fare. I would think cruises would be too.

We had our picture taken at Tusker House before breakfast, that was included. We also had all meet and greet photos (I made sure to tell the PP that we had MM and they seemed to take more photos), and we find PP all over the parks. We just stop and have them take our picture and ask for magic shots, they are great. We have a ton where our kids are interacting with a character (holding Tinkerbell, Chip, or Simba) or holding a bunch of balloons. We had hundreds of great shots the last several trips and have purchased it again for our upcoming trip.

This is great info Aretha, and you are able to just print out the photos or save to your computer? I need to read up on this. I read $169 and I was like nah.....but maybe......

Considering Disney charges $14.95 for individual photo downloads, I think Memory Maker is a no-brainer. The in-park photographers scan your magic band and the photos appear on the My Disney Experience site so you can download hi resolution jpegs for printing anywhere. The photos appear on your account within hours and they hold your photos for something like 45 days.

Right. The thing is we never even usually purchase the disney photos....

Reading both of these links should be very helpful to you. The first one explains what is included in the Memory Maker and the second shows all of the magic shots available. I got it last year and thought it was great. I purchased it again for this year's trip.

If you think you would want at least 12 photos, then it's worth it to purchase it in advance. I came home with 250+ photos and only 4 were rides.

We considered not getting it last summer. Good thing we got it. There are just so many places to get good pictures with it.

I think Tusker House quit doing the photo. We did the character dinner in March with no photo. I think it used to be with Donald out front, but he roams inside now.

We have done MM on our last two trips which were a week each, we didn't do it for a day trip in December as the cost wasn't justifiable. For us, in a week we had about 550 pictures. Almost 600 by the time I added borders, stickers, etc. We like it because it's a way to get all three members of our travel party in photos. Prior to using it, my mom was rarely in a photo and character photos were always just me alone. Now we get the whole family I'm on the character fun! Yes, the PP photographers will take photos with your own camera, but we have found they lack in quality when compared to the photos with their camera. All in all, yes it's expensive, but I think it is something to try once because it is very easy to get your money's worth out of it with just a few photos!

You can always hand your camera to the Photopass Photographer and they will take a picture, but we love getting Memory Maker so we don't have to worry about hading off our camera all the time and also the borders, etc that you can use before printing are fantastic.

We did the MM this past May and it was totally worth it - I got it since we went with my nieces who did the BBB so all their photos were included. While we had never bought a ride photo (we never even looked at them when we got off rides) I am so glad they are included in the MM. We got some great shots at the 7DMT plus we also got video from the ride. Plus you can't beat a photo of a mini Elsa looking horrified at Space Mountain (poor kid, she is such a good sport!)

CRT was included, plus all the M&G, BBB - both when the girls were getting the makeover and the photo shoot they do afterwards. After the trip I did little photobooks for my mom, my DB & DSIL, and for myself. For the girls I did collage posters (I do them for every trip we take DD). They are a nice mix of MM photos and our own.

You can always just have them take your picture, then review the photos and pay $15/each for your favorite ones. There's no need to spend $170-$200 unless you're going to be buying 12+ photos.

For a 10-day, multi-family trip, we'll buy Memory Maker, but for just the three of us, even for 9 days or so, we'll only end up with about 6 pictures that we really wanted to buy.
