Quick question...
Are family members that are linked in my account already linked for memory maker?
When I pull up the memory maker info in my account, it only lists myself.
I want to make sure the kids photos will be taken on rides I don't go on.

Thank you!:surfweb:

If everyone in your family is on one MDE account, yes. We had six family members on one account and everyone's ride photos automatically went into our account whether the account holder rode or not. The kids had fun riding and showing us their pictures later! I'm not sure how it works if you all have separate MDE accounts. I believe there is an invite that must be sent- I'm sure someone else has experience with this!

In your same room and without an account of their own, there's nothing else you need to do, they'll connect.

In your room or another linked reservation with their own MDE, you need to go in MDE, look at My Family and Friends, click Edit on the person and make sure to select "this friend can view and purchase my photopass photos"

From what I can tell, the answer here depends on whether you have magic bands or not. The extremely confusing FAQ says that if you want to get a ride photo added to your account and you do NOT have magic bands, you must bring the card (either memory maker or park ticket) for the person who has the memory maker entitlement.

Here is the FAQ:

Immediately after you have experienced a participating attraction, please visit the attraction’s Sales Center and link the photo to your Disney account. You can link the photo using any MagicBand or card linked to your account—including Memory Maker cards and Disney PhotoPass Cards.

Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends cannot link attraction photos to their Disney account.

I finally found an answer to this last night that made sense to me.

When you get memory maker and you link it to your DME account and your magic band...you are the "owner". Under your DME account, you have other family/friends listed, so while you are the only one who can actually upload the pictures and do edits and such, all the pictures from all the cards/magic bands of the users under your DME account go to the memory maker account for you to deal with

Thank you Allie. That answers my question.
We are all on my MDE. They are listed as family and friends
and I have box checked to share photos.
So, I guess I'm good;)

There is a box to check to share photos? Where is that?
I thought everyone would just be able to use it
I see where it is assigned to me, but nothing else.

Basically everyone that manages a MyDisneyExperience account has to link you in via "friends and family". They either have to accept an invitation or invite you. Once your name is added to their list, they have to click on you and check whether they want to share pictures with you or not and whether they want to share pictures of other people they manage under their account. You will have to do the same thing for them once they are in your list of friends and family. The only people this doesn't apply to are people in your own room that don't have their own MyDisneyExperience accounts.

It is very important to make sure EVERY person that has a band and/or Photopass card is linked under your "friends and family" or they won't show up.

okay...so there is no box to check because everyone is in the same room?
And they can all use the MM

Yes if they are in the same room as you and they don't have their own MyDisneyExperience account then they should all show up under your account with no problem. They should already be listed in your "friends and family" listing. I haven't dealt with people having different MDE accounts in the same room but I dealt with a group of 13 people, 4 in my room, 2 technically off-property (Shades of Green), and the rest staying in different rooms/resorts.

You can check your account the same night as you visit the park just to be sure. Not ALL pictures show up immediately but you should at least see some the night after visiting the park. The pictures that didn't show up right away tended to be the ones with special effects in them.

What if you aren't staying on site, but everyone is on the same MDE account? MM is purchased under "me", but when I go to my husband or kid's profile under my family it doesn't have the MM as linked.

Thank you. I will be sure to check it.
We will be there for 2 weeks, with 6 adults and 1 toddler, so plan on having a LOT of photos

If you are staying off-site it will depend on how you are going to use MM. If you decide to buy MagicBands you will have to enter the number on the bands and link them in. If you get a Photopass you will have to link the number on the pass in.

If you are staying on property it automatically links the MagicBand numbers in to family members staying in the same room if not you have to do it manually. If you link the MagicBands into your account to get FastPass services it also seems to link it in for MM at the same time (at least this is what appears to have happened when my family staying at Shades of Green linked theirs in.)
