Just got back and I want to get my memory maker photos done. When in the process do I edit the photos? Before or after claiming or downloading? And what is the difference between claiming and downloading?

I just downloaded them to my computer. You only have a certain amount of days to claim and download them after your trip. You can always edit later.

Is downloading and claiming the same thing? I was thinking I should download, but what is claiming?

I think when it says "claim photos" that's for when you got pictures taken but didn't scan a band, but got a photo card instead. You would click "claim photos" and enter the code from the card to make your account populate with those pictures.

I personally like to download a set of pictures with no edits before starting to add borders and effects, because the system is a bit slow and cumbersome and I want to make sure I get a clean copy of everything.i think if you don't choose "save a copy" when you're editing, it just changes your original and you're only left with the edited version. After I download one set, I edit and add borders or stickers then download those edited photos.

Thank you. This is the information I was looking for. I did my download and started editing. If I'm understanding correctly, now after I do my edits, I should download again.

That is correct. You can't actually add all the borders and stickers to your downloaded pictures. Only the pictures that have not been downloaded yet. Just create a copy of each picture you wish to download and then download one set that isn't edited. That way you have a copy of everything for sure. Then go back in and edit the copies to your hearts desire. Maybe even make an additional copy so you can edit them different ways. You can create a ton of pictures from one picture.

Thought it was one of the best purchases we made this trip!!!

Exactly correct. We used our Magic Bands most of the time, but we had a couple instances when the Photo Pass photographer couldn't get the band to scan so they gave us the old Photo Pass card. I just "claimed" them when I got back to the resort and put the card number in and there they were. It was very simple.

Good luck!!!
