Memory Maker at Disneyland

Well, it will be interesting to see what the deal is when I get there on Thursday and activate my photopass that I pre-purchased. I'm going to be pretty bummed if I can't add borders and if I have to get the CD before I leave.

Please report back, I have a pp+ that I'm not using until March. I'm really curious as to how this will work?

SENDING YOU PIXIE DUST THAT THEY GRANDFATHER YOU INTO THE OLD WAY!!

Unfortunately, you are correct. The Disney PhotoPass+ product is no longer available on the website or in park. From time to time, we make changes to the products we offer. We suggest contacting us when it gets closer to your upcoming trip to discuss what products we are offering at that time.

This makes it sound like they may be coming out with a new photo pass product or products. Perhaps they'll give guests the chance to choose options such as PP downloads only or PP and ride downloads, or rid downloads only (again). I imagine there will be a price increase on anything they do offer. Honestly, it's a bummer, but not a deal breaker for me. We used the PP+ once, and I liked it. We got a ton of pictures. However a lot of the pictures are not any better than the ones the CM took on our own camera.

I did a live chat.. spoke to a cast member and received the above email and all indicated in some way, that before too long they will have memory maker at Disneyland.. now how that will look without the magic bands is not something I know .. but Im thinking that that this is one of the first steps towards magic bands moving over to DL..

I just hope it prices out fairly. MM is preorder is only $149 and that is good for your entire visit which most people that go to WDW go for longer trips. Since DL only offers 5 day hoppers I hope they price accordingly.

I believe some changes are coming to DLR. But they did say already that magic bands weren't part of it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Well, since they only sell passes for half the number of days you can get at WDW, I'm going to guess half the price? ;)

Figures. I actually thought PP+ was a good value. Every time I think something at Disney is a good value, they overhaul it into something that isn't.

Yes, no magic bands. And they said it again in the Disneyland Shanghai posts. They mentioned how DL will never get MB and neither will DL Shanghai. The mentioned using some type of app on cell phone at Shanghai but said that magic bands will not be there either. Interesting.

Yeah, no Magic Bands. Too bad though, it sounds like that is what many people like about the FP+ system at WDW. I think with Smart Phones and apps, there just isn't much need for the MB, and they do cost Disney money. Besides, one of the perks of WDW is all of the resorts, and the Magic Bands are really part of their resort perks.

I wonder if just a new photo package(s) is coming soon, or if this will all be implemented soon.

So I can't say much as nothing is official but I have been hearing there's suppose to be a new type of photopass coming out soon. I don't know any details or anything and nothing is official yet as things can change but that's what I'm hearing. I believe it's going to do more with the mobile app in someway and there being PP+ that are good for one day only.

Turning in the voucher to activate the pass went just like normal! We had breakfast with Minnie at the Plaza Inn yesterday. We just showed the photographer the voucher, and lanyard was delivered to the table along with the photo package. Easy peasy!

One of the photographers also mentioned a one-day pass to us, so that rumor may have some staying power.

Still not sure if the system will be the same when I go to access photos. Hoping to have a chance to figure that part out in the next few days.

Have you used it for Ride Photos? I am curious if the process there will be the same?

I pre purchased mine also for our March trip. Where are we suppose to the turn the voucher in at?

I believe you have to turn it into either of the Camera shops - one is in DCA near the lockers and the other is in DL at the Camera Shop at the end of Main Street. Or, as someone mentioned, you can turn it in if you attend a Character Meal before you are able to enter the parks - I know of others who did this if they had a Goofy Breakfast their first day before they entered the park.

Sad to hear it isn't available anymore, or the ride option. We go 2ce a year to DL ... my kids LOVE getting all the ride pictures. It is so fun to see the kids grow too against the rides ... little head peeking over the bar on Space Mountain to a few years later with a full head over the bar. My daughter once rode ToT 5 times in a row just for different photos! For $69 - we got it each & every time and always made excellent use out of it. My last order, I think I got 325 photos - edited, added borders, etc., from 170 photos to start with over our 3 days! After Aulani in October, we hadn't decided on a spring trip or skip it. We're going in Feb - it was too late to get in on the last of the pre-ordering, and I'm bummed. The photos were a huge part of our trip - sometimes we wouldn't even pull out our camera. Oh well.

Definitely interested to see what the next generation of photo package offers will bring! We won't buy annual passes anymore, we had the Deluxe, and coming from Chicago we knew we'd get our money's worth on those for a few years. Now? Not so sure.

We had a good thing for many years, I definitely got great value from the PP+.

I think the fact it was such a GREAT value is the exact reason it is gone! It sucks when you really enjoyed something and then it's gone - but then when you step back and look at it from a business model you realize that while Disney is a magical and fun vacation experience for most of us - to Disney it is very much a business.

Interesting idea of just a one day PP+. I wonder if that means they’ll have options for 1, 2, 3, etc. days. Like you’re paying per day. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with
