So I knew that the pre paid Photo plus pass was a thing of the past.. and as we are planing our upcoming trip, I was looking online to see what if anything they were doing at Disneyland .

I was just on the Disney website and did the live chat with a cast member.. she told me to go to the website which I did, and it only came up as Memory Maker with a price tag of $169. or pre pay of $149. when I said I didnt want Memory Maker , but Photo pass, she said its all one and the same now , and that was the current and correct prices..
OMG!
Talk about shock.! thats an increase of $100.. !! and she could give no answers as to why it now costs so much other than copy and pasting the spiel from the website as to what you get.. which Is nothing more than what you got with the ppp..! very frustrating.!!

I kept telling her DisneyLAND not WDW., but she kept saying its all same..
Can someone confirm that please.? Im sure I read somewhere for Disneyland it was still only $100. and no magic bands.. etc.. the website she sent me to was WDW

I hope she's wrong. There just aren't enough Photopass photographers out in the parks to justify that sort of price increase.

I know. right.. Im on the DisneyLAND site right now.. but not seeing where to buy it.. and if what I read was true that you now have to buy it in the parks, they could still give a price range.

I believe if you call back and get a different CM they will let you photopass is $99 on site. No pre buying at this time so the price isn't listed I believe. I would callback. I think that CM was thinking WDW.

That price is ridiculous given that they cap admission at 5 days. You could buy a pic from each ride and be under that total.

On Monday I was in DCA during the trolley show and saw 6 photographers standing around. 2 by the tree, 1 at the statue, 1 by the fountain and 2 by FF&P where the characters usually are. After the show only Goofy came out, so that moved 1 to Carthay where he was meeting and then I saw another by the waterfall. That's a lot fairly close together. In DL the characters were leaving when I got there, but people on photopass outfits were doing parade crowd control, and typically would have only been out in the morning. I'd like to think that they're going to add more if they start charging that much for photos, but it seems like DCA has always had more roaming photos than DL.

Im still confused.. the guy I just spoke to said its showing $199. and its ALL memory maker at both parks.. so no more Photopass plus. unless you are a AP.. but still have no idea of the cost.!!! ugh !

I would just wait til you get to the park. People have discussed it here (about not get the $79 for preorder) and that they had no problem buying it onsite for $99. I wouldn't freakout just yet. Again, I'm no expert though but that's my take.

Maybe someone in the parks can confirm for you?

I wonder if previously bought photopass+ packages will still be honored. I bought mine about 6 months ago and had to cancel the trip. Tried reselling it but no one wanted it. So now I have it but most likely won't be using it until May. If they have memory maker or some other type of photo pass option, will they still honor the photopass+ since there is no expiration?

I would think they would.. seeing that you can still get the ppp if you hold an AP. you get it as part of the package... but for the rest of us..to buy now, is to only get MM. as for pre paid.. Im guessing they will honor it.. damn, if I had of known I Would have bought it from you.. lol enjoy your trip..!

I am doubtful we will buy anything this trip - we were on the fence on whether to prebuy the PP+ even if it were still offered. This is our 4th trip in as many years and honestly we've not used the hundreds of pictures from the last few trips as much as we thought we would. They are nice but if we love a few we can buy them as one offs.

i have three vouches for PP+ that I pre-bought for our three different trips in 2016, I am sure they will honor them

Um, WOW! This is crazy! I really love the Photo Pass Plus and we get one every time we go. Now I'm torn, we have Deluxe APs this year and we are taking a few more short trips. I would normally just pay $69 prior to going. I know for sure I'm going later this month and again in October. I'm feeling like I should just upgrade one of our Deluxe APs to a Signature pass? Do you get ride photos?

Thanks for any info!

Do you get ride photos?

Yes. After the ride, tell the CM the last three digits of the photo number. They'll pull it up, you confirm it's yours, then you hand them your PP+ card and they scan it in.

I hope they honor the PP+. I was able to buy one right before they closed the site down last year for our trip in March. They sent me all the material and everything, so I think I'm good to go!

I've had PP+ before but I wasn't sure if it's the same for AP Signature plus. Do you just hand them your AP card? Thanks!

I think they will honor those already purchased - they are just no longer for sale at even the regular price as of Jan 3rd. So anyone planning to buy one once they arrive are out of luck.
