Memory maker and upgrade to AP

leaving for WDW on thanksgiving. Have park hoppers but will be upgrading to AP when I get there

what is the issue again with purchasing onsite rather than ahead of time? Is it just that it takes longer to see your photos the first few days or does it not work first few days?

Also anyone ever upgrade to AP and get the mm? Thinking maybe just purchasing mm now but wasn't sure if they would credit you the cost when you upgraded or if you are just out the cost of mm?

For the advanced-purchased MM (without an AP), it becomes active three days after purchase.

When I activated my AP renewal last winter (with the new MM included) my past trip's photos reappeared in my account as downloadable. So there's not the same restrictions on activation as there is with regular MM.

APs get free photopass downloads, don't buy memorymaker you don't need it and all your photos are included in the AP price.

Thanks. Was concerned that it wouldn't kick in or several days if I upgrade. Sounds like AP and regular mm have diffeneet rules and mm starts day 1 if I upgrade onsite
