Never really paid attention to this until now. I have a Nikon D7000. Just reformatted two cards and have the camera set up for Raw 14Bit lossless in slot 1 and jpeg in slot 2.
If I only place a card in slot one it tells me my pic count is 318 (with 16GB) card. The manual states an 8GB card should get 223 so I would figure this should be in the mid 400's. I know it is not an exact science but 33% less seems a bit much.
When I place a card in slot 2 which should just be for jpg the count goes up to 448 which is what I would have thought I would get in raw captures on card 1.
confused though why the count increases when I place a card in slot 2 when that should just be for jpg copies. It should have nothing to do with how many captures should fit on card 1. I would understand if I set it up as overflow and it counted both cards but that is not how it is set up.
What # should I believe? The 318 or the 448 and why the difference?
TIA
