Hey all,

My DH and I are going to WDW in May, and it's my second time ever ... first time since 1996. I have some memories of the trip that I'd like to recreate if possible. Can anyone help me figure out: A. What am I describing and B. Does it still exist? :D

#1 A sit-down movie experience about Disney animation, narrated by (I think?) the genie from Aladdin. I think there was also a related tour where you could watch animators working on cels. The animators were behind glass!

#2 A fountain that jumps and spits somewhat randomly over a walkway. (Memory ties this with Epcot somehow.)

#3 A ride that ends with Queen Victoria in goggles flying a time machine (??)

Thanks so much for your help! I'll continue to post here if other memories come up.

#2 is the only one I know of and it is in the area to the left of the land. Where honey I shrunk the kids and figament is.

There are fountains that have jumping water.

#1 Is now narrated by Mushu (from the movie Mulan) and ends into one of the mest meet and greet areas for Mickey as well as the newest Pixar movie. This is located in Hollywood Studios between playhouse disney and the Arial attraction.

#2 This can be a few different areas in Epcot. If you are thinking of a huge fountain it is directly behind spaceship earth (the big golf ball) if you are talking about one you can play in then it is still behind Spaceship Earth but just a bit farther down the sidewalk.

#3 I am not familiar with this so I believe this ride is no longer at WDW

# 1 was definitely the Studio Tour at MGM Studios or whatever it was called then. As a previous poster said, parts of the tour are different now. The Robin Williams as Aladdin narrated part was always our favorite part.
# 2 is in Epcot when you came out of the attraction that had Figment.
# 3 is not familiar to me. :confused3

Thanks MinnieVanMom! We'll have to make sure we get a pic for my dad -- he's a big Disney lover and treasures his children's Disney memories as much as we do. PS Love your handle :D

I remember #1!! it was as the Studios and I think it was part of one of the tours.. but the tour that you remember has changed, a lot!
It's the Magic of Disney Animation attraction and here's a link for you! http://disneyworld.orlandovacation.com/articles/mgm-changes-in-attractions.php it's the next to last paragraph!

I figured it must've been in MGM (oops, now HS). Thanks for the link, PixieTI. Reading the name of the old movie ("Finding Neverland") totally jogged my memory. At first it was Robin Williams on screen, but through some magic he was turned into a lost boy! That's about all I remember of the film, but watching the captive animators really made an impression on me I guess.

Ahh, you guys are all great! I'm loving what you all could do with these random snippets.

#1 is solved -- thank you all so much. Too bad it doesn't exist in the way it once did, but understandable given that Disney doesn't do animation in the same way it once did. I'm glad I found enough info to find pictures and job my memory some, though.

#2 with your guys' help, I had enough keywords to search around and find pics that jogged my memory. Here is what I remember:

Can anyone confirm the existence/location of these?

#3 "Queen Victoria in a time machine" LOL, you guys are going to love this. I found video of what I'm remembering (isn't the internet mind-blowing). It's ... not Queen Victoria. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zbwM-sZWbM

Now I've got another one!

#4 Ok, this ride's seating mechanism sort of reminded me of the Haunted Mansion doom buggies. For most of the ride, you rode facing forward, but near the end, your seat turned sideways and there was a console with buttons to vote on something.

The fourth item was at Epcot. The old GM building - I forgot the name. The end of the ride you could pick one of three scenes to experience. Test Track and Mission Space now occupy the area.

Yes! This was there in Sept '10. My kids loved it! :goodvibes

#4 Sounds like you are thinking of Horizons.

At the end you could vote on Life under sea, in space and one or two others I can't remember.

#4 sounds like Horizons. Mission Space is there now.

If you liked the ability to choose your own ending, you will like the new ending to Spaceship Earth.

Much has changed. Many things are still the same. I envy you time warp to the changes and experiencing them.

I'm spoiled and go at least every other year - so, I have enjoyed watching the improvements as they happen.

Glad you get a kick out of it! I know I'd love hearing about someone's DL return after 15+ years, having been there tons of times over the years.

I'm really excited for WDW and hopefully I'll be able to capture the wonder of the 'time warp' in a trip report. :)

#2 is just outside of the Imagination pavilion in Epcot.
