We're enjoying our Treehouse very much. I'll be sure to type up a full report with some photos when I find a few minutes of breathing room -- my sister has been setting quite the pace for the past few days.

Haven't quite figured out the best way to make transportation work yet. We've tried taking internal bus to the Springs and catching the Animal Kingdom bus from there (had to stand), walking to the Grand Stand to go to Epcot (nearly empty bus when we got to the Springs). We've also used the boat to get both to and from the Carriage House. This takes a little longer, has limited hours, but is a nice relaxing trip. We've also walked to and from the Carriage House along the path that goes along the opposite bank of the river. (Please don't ask us how we got over the "Cast Member Only" bridge. ;) I'm not sure why that sign is there, it is a shorter path than going through the Grandstand. The only thing I can think of is that the bridge and short service path don't have lights on them. We have the villa immediately next to this path (our master bedroom looks out over the bridge), so I'm afraid the temptation was too great.

Yesterday, we ran into some transportation delays because of a bus accident at the corner of Broadway (the main street through SSR) and the street that runs in front of Paddock. A training bus appears to have been going straight through the intersection, and realized this wasn't the correct route (he would have been going backwards through the loop at Congress Park). Must have slammed on his breaks when he realized his mistake, because the SUV behind him hit the bus. Not a high-speed impact because it was within about 10 foot of the stop sign, but enough that they had to stop where they were for the report to be written up. Unfortunately, that meant the training bus was in the middle of the intersection, and none of the other SSR buses could get around him. Ours was the first bus to the scene afterwards, and he somehow managed to make a 10-point turn in the intersection and make it around. Lucky for us, because we heard on the radio a minute or so later that they were closing that road for buses. (I'm not sure what folks at Carrousel and Paddocks stops were doing after that.)

They're waiting for me on the deck to go to the pool, so need to sign off.

One other question I remember being asked about the Treehouses... sorry, don't have time to find the thread. (Edit) Yes, there are BBQ utensils in the THV.

Off for a swim.

Thanks for the info. We saw the model tree house which looked amazing can't wait to see your pictures.

Well, probably the folks who had to wait down the line aft er that accident were some of those who gave SSR bad bus reports. I always think when it comes to transportation, something can happen at any time, so I look at the whole picture rather than one bad delay. It sounds like transportation to and from the treehouses is a bit confusing though.

we were at the Treehouse Villas from July 24-29......
the transportation is not bad from Treehouses... there is 2 stops North and South our Treehouse was right outside the North stop and by the time we got to Springs stop at SSR it was about 7min. later.... then you pick up your park buses from there.... going back to Treehouses you get off at Grandstand and wait there for return treehouse bus or walk back to Treehosues...(maybe 10min walk)..... but confusing i would say not really......

Sorry, I gave some bad info. There are grill utensils in the THV. They were hidden under the stove with the pots and pans.

Thank you so much for the update. We're leaving for THV in 10 days and was wondering how the bus service was going. It seems to me that you have your good days and your bad with the busses. Guess you just need to have a little patience with the whole thing! Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and keep us updated if you can!:goodvibes

My nephew, Kevin, has volunteered to pose for a picture to demonstrate the size of the bunk beds. He's a 5' 10" sixteen-year-old. As you can see, it's a tight squeeze. He has a few inches to spare.

At 6' 3", my feet were over the rails past the ankle. (Sorry, no photos of that.)

Here are some of the photos I have that feature the THV. If you'd like to see anything specific, just let me know. We're here for another 4 nights.

Great Photos and report!!:goodvibes

Are there electrical outlets on the deck? or nearby?

Also can you give a rough estimate of how much space is at the end of the bunkbeds. Considering putting the boys in 1 room to keep the living space free and want to know if there is space for an air mattress in the bunk bed room.
Also, are you using the living area for sleeping? Is it a tight fit?

Yes, there is a ground fault outlet on the deck, next to the steps. You can see it in the pictures, below.

There's not a whole lot of space in the bunk bed room. You won't be able to fit an inflatable twin bed to the sides of the bunk. However, you may be able to squeeze it in at the foot of the bed. I've set up the portable crib in this space to give you an idea of the size.

On another note, I was not able to set up the portable crib in the 2nd bedroom. There was not enough floor space to set it up and be able to open/close the door.

There is room to set it up in the mater bedroom. Tight squeeze, but it fits.

:goodvibesDo you have any photos of the view from your deck? Have you seen any critters?!!

Is there a BBQ grill on the deck for use? Is so, Gas or charcoal?

Great post!! TY for the pictures!

Wow  the photos. Can't believe how small the bunk bed is.
