We are planning a trip May 27th thru June 4th. We are planning on doing Disney the first stretch and Universal the second half. How are the crowds Memorial Day weekend? We will probably be in the parks Fri-Mon. Also one more ? How is the weather this time of year? Thanks for all of your help!

I was there during Memorial Day weekend in 96 on our Honeymoon. It was quite warm and very crowded. MK was actually closed one day at noon due to it being full, but I understand it had to do with Gay Day. We still had fun, but subsequent trips have been in November and December. That being said, only my wife and I are going down for the first time by ourselves the weekend before Memorial day.

If memory serves me correctly, Memorial day weekend is one of the busier times for Disney?

You will have fun no matter what.

I've been three times during this time. Memorial Day weekend will be rather busy. The rest of the week you'll find very the crowds much smaller. Temps are in the high 80's-low 90's.

We were there for our honeymoon the last week in May, 1998. It was hot and crowded. But it didn't matter, we had a GREAT time! :)

With that info I can start planning. Don't get me wrong, have nothing against same sex relationships, just trying to avoid the big crowds. Here we come Disney world::MinnieMo

We usually go this time of year for our anniversary. We also go in October/November. You will definitely see more crowds Memorial Day than what we see in October/November. From what I recall though I don't think it isn't do-able (why else would we keep coming back). The weekend itself of Memorial Day is usually busier and you have to plan your days carefully, however, after Memorial Day the crowds really do lift and it becomes quite nice.

The weather is warm but not as stifling as it can get in the summer. Good luck!

We were at WDW last year over Memorial Day. We came down the week before, had the long weekend and left later that week. The crowds the week before were great. Decent lines and good fastpass times (1-2 hours from time we pulled them.) By the weekend things changed. The parks did get crowded. We avoided MK on Sat., Sun., and MemDay. But we always avoid it on weekends. Also, Star Wars weekends may have been going on--I know we avoided MGM for some reason. We spent most of the long weekend at Epcot (our fav.) and wandering around the Boardwalk. Even with the crowds we were able to do most of the things we wanted to--but we had 12 days and took it slow. The best thing was that we were at the Swan for the last of our stay. Memorial Day saw few conferences that week. We got a great rate and the hotel was not crowded.

Weather--well, it was hot. In the 90s most days and humid. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated. Take breaks during the hottest of the afternoon and the worst of the crowd. AND have FUN!
