Memorial Day

Please forgive my ignorance, but I have noticed Memorial Day mentioned a few times in articles I've read. When is this? Are the parks likely to be extra busy at this time?

Memorial Day is our holiday in the US for remembering our War Dead. It is supposed to be a celebration of those who have given their lives for their country.

Given its position in the calendar year, we Americans also look upon Memorial Day as the Unofficial Start of the Summer Vacation Season. It is one of the busiest times of the year on the nation's highways, and is also a big vacation weekend, due to the three day weekend.

Memorial Day falls on the last Monday in May, which is today. The parks have been suitably busy by all reports for the duration of this weekend.
