Just how bad is Universal for Memorial Day Wkend? Will having the Express Pass help or is it just too crazy to go anyway?

Having been during the busisest time of year (week between X-mas and NY), if you have the exress pass, you will have a blast regardless of crowd size.

bumping and asking again about the crowd factor...

Just get there about 45 minutes before the park opens and you will be fine. Do all the major rides right away and then do the minor ones once the crowds appear.

Are you staying onsite? If so, then you will have FOTL. If not, I might buy the express pass - I would think the crowds would be heavy. But like Damo said, get there early and hit the big attractions first. :)

Times to avoid at ANY THEME PARK:
Presidents day weekend
Easter Weekend
Memorial Day weekend
Fourth of July weekend....week
Labor Day weekend
Thanksgiving weekend
Christmas week
And any other time when kids will be out of school for an extended weekend. You can go during those times, but you are insane if you do. But IF you do, get there early, use any fotl or express, pack your own water and snacks....follow these rules, and you just might survive. Of course the best way to survive a busy weekend is not to go!

You made me laugh! The thing is I agree with you. We went to WDW 2 yrs ago over Memorial wkend and I said never again. So here we are planning another trip for Memorial wkend this time to Universal. We are planning on staying at HRH. I've wondered if we were insane. I know we will have the express pass.

What about the meal-deal. Should we bother? Will it help regarding lines at resturants? Are those the only places to eat in the park anyway and we might as well get the meal-deal....is it faster or not? Should we wait to go another time for this trip????????? to prevent insanity???? I'm wondering how many nights to stay over Memorial Wkend starting with Saturday.....what to do-what to do?????????????

There are lots of great places to eat at the parks. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the meal deal. If you have to go somewhere on Memorial Day, Universal onsite is the place to be. At least if you are staying onsite you still get express pass so your waits will be substantially shorter than the normal lines.
