Memorial Day Wkend-Are we nuts?

My DD and I just booked a last minute trip because Spirit offered a good rate out of Atlantic City. We made our plans very quickly and I didn't even think about how crowded it might be. Has anyone been there over Mem. Day? Are we just plain nuts or Disney nuts?

I would say no crazier than any other time at Disney! We have gone in June...super busy, Christmas/NYE...super,super busy and Easter Break.... even busier yet! Hopefully our trip next week will be slightly less busy!

I think this is a great time. DD17 and I usually go at this time. We leave on a Friday (her last "hour" of school is that day). The parks are the normal weekend crowds. It does drop off quite a bit on Tuesday and, of course, really picks up the next weekend (that's usually when Gay Days kicks off). We've been at different times (Sept, Dec, Easter and Mem Wknd) and like this time the best. Have a GREAT time!

We will be there too for memorial day and usually go in aug/sept. my dh is very worried about the crowds, anyone else have any input?????

it will be starwars weekend so watch for crowds around the star tours ride

I say it can't be much more crowded then July 4th and we survive going over that holiday! I actually think there will be less people than July 4th so it will seem better to us!

We are also going Memorial Day weekend, it will be my family's 1st trip! We are so excited!

we were there last year and actucally it wasn't to bad. It was crowded...but not that much worse than it had been the entire week before hand. I think one reason the crowds seem to a little up is because of "gay days" (sorry I don't know if that is what the correct name is for the weekends events). But all in all if you use your fast passes and make your ADR's you should be fine.

Cool! Where are you staying? Do you have all of your ADR's ready and your itinerary done or do you plan on just going with the flow?

I don't think you are nuts. We went last year and it wasn't too bad. It really must not have been because we are going again this year. We arrive Monday.

We're counting down till Sunday..7 am flight out of Atlantic City...taking ME to Pop Century, and then hitting the parks. Can't wait to do the night time EMH at MK. We're looking forward to a little cooler temp and somewhat smaller crowds. Don't forget your lime green ribbons!

I'm soooo glad to read all these good reports for this time of year! We're going Memorial week (arriving the Friday before, leave the Saturday after) next year, and I've read so many bad things about it, I was getting really worried and second guessing whether we should go at all.

I'll be looking for all your trip reports when you get back!

I will make sure I give a trip report for the "Week of Memorial day"!! Last year we were ther the week before and it was not bad at all..

I know it will be busier, but we are ready!!

Can't be as bad as peak Summer crowds.....I checked this morning and there is still availability at the on site resorts???

All I can think about is am I packed...What do I need to pick up ect....

OMG!!! My mind is not on work at all.

I spend every lunch hour on the DIS!!

I did take in all DD and my change and we had almost $500!!! That is part of our spending money!!!
