We are going to WDW for 10 days arriving on the on Sat of Memorial Day weekend. Myself, 2 sons and my mother. All plans set, ADR's etc... and my mother brought up going to SW for a day. We're in OH and used to have one...so she's interested in going after all these years of it being gone up here. OK, we can do that.

But to arrange things a bit my easiest day to drop from WDW is Memorial Day. I had planned for that to be a WP/DTD day so it's easiest to be flexible on that day. I see on the calendar it's open until 10pm, so I'm thinking the night time shows would be done then? My sons and I (not my mom) went last year and those were their favorites. The other option would be the following day, May 31 when the park is open until only 7pm. I'd have to cancel one ADR....but I can do that.

Are the crowds going to be crazy busy on the holiday itself? Worth a trip to SW? We would be there for the shows and exhibits only. My kids are too old for the kiddie stuff, but too scared yet to ride the coasters.....so rides are a non-issue for us.

Thanks in advance.

regards

If you're going on Monday the crowds should be calming down but that weekend is crazy busy all over Orlando.

Thanks.

Am I safe to assume the night time shows are going on for the weekend since it's open until 10am? The site only shows the regular show times right now, but I can't imagine the last show being at 6pm and yet the park is open until 10. If the choice is a larger crowd but the "after dark" shows (and IMHO the better ones) vs. smaller crowd and just the normal stuff, I'll go for the bigger crowds.

I knew the weekend would be busy when I signed up. We don't arrive until evening on Sat and planned on dinner, maybe a swim and bed. Sun we're hitting up SWW at HS, so I already expected a large crowd.......and we're OK with that as SWW is the main reason we're going this time of year. I planned on an "off day" for Monday thinking it would be the last real crowded day of our trip, but it sounds like we'd be OK venturing to SW that day.

Yes, night shows will be included in a 10:00pm cloising. They will not be included in a 7pm closing.

We will be there, too, but are actually planning to go to SW on that Saturday. Crazy, crowded,I know! Do they have fireworks on the nights they are open until 10?

For Spring break, no. But thats because they are preparing for the new Shamu Show. They will probably have fireworks in May for a 10pm closing since the show will be a month old by then. Things may change though, so its best to look at the show schedule before or during your visit.
