Now that there is just over a week until the MGM attraction closes, now is as good a time as any to share experiences.

Last time we saw the show, the host asked the contestant what his favorite part of vactaion was. The man said, "This of course." The host said to give a real answer.
The man, in the middle of WDW, says, "Universal was fun."
The host was shocked and shouted: "We don't talk about the BIG-U here :furious: !"
It was very funny.

No one else has a memorable millionaire moment?!?

My only experience with WWTBAM was in 2003 when I ran to catch the last show of the day while DW took DD and DS to another ride, I got there too late to make the show and it won't be there when we go this December :sad1: I am sad to say that I never made it and was sooo looking forward to it this trip. Not really "memorable" so I am looking forward to others posting theirs so I cam live vicariously through them :thumbsup2

Seeing my seat number as #1 once! Never made it to the hot seat though!

In the beginning of the show when they turn the cameras on th audience. Looked at the big screen and there we were. Grandson held up his pal mickey and the announcer said....Look.... Mickey is here.

I'd have to agree that seeing your seat # on the top 10 is exciting! Okay - so I was #10 - But STILL! :-) :woohoo:

My Most Memorable WWTBAM moment came during my last trip to WDW -- which was just about a week ago!

The gentleman in the Hot Seat made it all the way to TWO QUESTIONS before winning the cruise. It was very unfortunate that he lost after making it that far -- I'm sure he will NEVER forget that it was the NY YANKEES who won the World Series in 1928!! But it definitely was very exciting to watch him make it that far to the top! :cheer2:

In 2004, I made it to the hot seat and 2 questions from the cruise before I blew it. It was a lot of fun. I know my DH is really sad that it won't be there when we go back. He wanted to try to top me!

i got into the hot seat once, and i remember being sooo nervous! i only made it right past the 1000 point question, but was actually relieved to be out of the hot seat - it was a lot of pressure! i actually liked being in the audience better. i'll miss the show. it was fun

 bye millionaire

Last week when I was down there, I got to #1!! Seat number 617! :yay:

Unfortunatly, I missed the next question... :furious:

A seven year old girl got into the hot seat when Joe Nameth and some other football guy (Joe Kelley? Jim Kelley? Some football guy named Kelley.) were there helping. She was introduced to them and the little sweetie just stood there. The host told her who they were exactly...mentioned their football accomplishments.

Then he asks the girl if she's excited to be sitting there with them and she shrugged her shoulders...real sweet. Then Joe Nameth says, "No, she doesn't know who the hell we are."

Maybe you had to be there. :)

My DH is a history buff and an 'all around really smart guy'. I couldn't wait to get him to this show as I was sure he would make it to the hot seat. We tried several times, and although he always made the top ten list, he never made it to the hot seat. On one of our last days we tried again. The fastest finger question put him at # 2...but the # 1 spot turned out to be my 14 yo daughter! When the camera turned on our family it was our daughter they wanted! She happened to know the order in which 4 presidents served, lol! We all laughed for days that she was the one who made it, and that she was able to reach the 64,000 question! That was such a fun memory and we were all amazed at how the youngest among us knew the most! :)

I have been lucky enough to make it into the Hot Seat many times (after I learned how to punch the buttons on the Boards). :cool1:

I remember one time when I consistently made the boards each and every game but never to the Hot Seat. One of the floor managers started rooting for me and when I finally made the number one spot as time was running out she stopped me and gave me a Pooh pin and a hug. It is my favorite 'Millionaire" pin. :thumbsup2

I remember the first time and how much of a daze I was in as I went down the steps. I do not think I made it very far that first time. :dance3:

Each time I got a bit better and a bit less nervous but it was still nerve wracking. You do truly lose your brains when those lights are on YOU. :joker:

I was once a Phone a Stranger and it was even harder since I would be letting someone else down. I was glad I could answer the question. :teacher:

The most awesome experience was one rainy day when my hubby wanted to go back to watch me play even though I had already been in the Hot Seat and was not eligible to do so again that trip. I was relaxed and in a fun mood and started in playing and made it to the top of the board the first game round and stayed there the entire day. The hosts made a joke out of it all. I did not get scared until the last couple of games as I really had not realized what I was doing.

My favorite seat was number 600 on the side behind the cameras. I always played better from there than on the floor.

I met a young boy in the line on one occasion and he was so smart and erudite. I was giving him tips on how to play and his parents were not so sure that this middle aged woman knew what she was talking about but the boy was sure I 'knew it all". He gave me a high 5 on my way down the aisle, past him, to the Hot Seat and when asked who I had in the audience rooting me on I pointed at him and they did a close up and little interview with him. It was a magical moment but it would have been better if I had gone 'all the way' for that boy. :wizard:

I was so looking forward to playing again and had set aside 4 whole days at MGM to play. Now 2 days will be more than enough.

Slightly Goofy

A couple of moments for us. We met with friends from Scotland and their son made it to the hot seat. Some of the questions were decidedly American and he used up his three lifelines fairly quickly. He just guessed on the rest of them and made it up to the 64,000 point mark which was amazing considering the questions.

On our first visit, a nine year old boy answered the Fastest Finger question right (put these Harry Potter books in order - the adults groaned). His father was asked to come down and help the boy out. I figured he'd be gone within a couple of questions. He made it all the way to the last question. It was funny because the dad didn't help him all that much. He did get the last question wrong (I actually knew it) but it was fantastic to see that little boy doing so well.

One time they'd had the fastest finger. Then the #1 person couldn't play because he was an employee. Then #2 couldn't play because she was an employee. Then #3 couldn't play because he'd already played in the time restriction. Then #4 & #5 couldn't play because they were employees. It was so funny, the host was just dying.. finally #6 was able to play but was the only person that played that show because half the show was spent trying to find a player!

We were there when a guy won the cruise!!!!!! It was seriously like he won the million dollars!!! The audience was out of their seats screaming and clapping. It was great and his family was BEYOND excited. :)

Last time we were their in June 2006 , the cast members let our family sit in the special seats ( hot seats with moniters ) . All the cast members were very nice too !

The most memorable moment for my family was when my daughter made it to the hot seat and walked away with 64,000 points! It was in August of 2002 and she was 17 years old. It was amazing.

Another time was when my two daughters were in those seats at the bottom. They had a great time! And finally, when we all saw our names on the top 10 list. That was cool.

My most memorable moment was when younger DS, then 13, made it into the hot seat. He got to 16,000. Later that day we were having lunch in 50's Prime Time and a family asked him if he was in the hot seat that morning and congratulated him. He had his 15 minutes!
