We go to WDW several times a year and over the years have begun to notice the same cast members that are just great. Do you have any memorable ones?

For starters, I'd like to mention Lonnie from the American Adventure. He is such a nice man who is amazing at his job. If I see him working, I always stop by to say hi.

Another is Linda. She's a server at the Rose & Crown. We met her when my wife was pregnant with our baby. Linda gave us a penny and told us the tradition she had with it. (My wife would remember exactly what it was). We stayed and chatted for an hour or so. We have went back a couple times since then and always search for her.

I don't know this last one's name but he's a guy in his 30s or 40s who works in Tomorrowland and always goes out of his way to speak to people and have fun. He's usually between Stitch and Buzz. Not sure if he's assigned to one place though.

We always stop by and see Art at the BC. We met him on our first trip and he remembers us every time :goodvibes

We found out in 2007 that my DH shares a Birthday with Carl the barman in R&C, he always says Hi - like in a local pub over here ;)

Also we've had a server in Yachtsman Steakhouse a couple of times, didn't get to see him in 2008 tho :sad1: He's called Rocky and remembered us from one year to the next - I can't imagine how some of these CM's remember considering the vast number of people they must see on a daily basis :scared1:

Mike the barber in MK. My Dsis, Dbro, Daunt and I went in for Dbro's hair cut the day we where leaving. as we walked away Mike ran out the shop snuck up on us and Pixie dusted us. We left at trail of pixie dust everywhere, it even made it back home.

three years later Mike gave my daughter her first haircut. He was sooooo sweet to her.

Vonnie Mercer & Joe Hardy at the Grand Floridian Royal Palm Club. They are Concierges.
They are 2 of the nicest and most helpful people I've ever met. They are all about the Disney magic :wizard:
Joe is also the funniest human being on the planet !!!

I don't think I'll ever forget Isaac at the All-Star Movies. He works up in front, greeting guests.

In Novemeber I went to WDW on a solo shopping trip and stayed at the ASM.
When I got off the ME bus all by myself, Isaac was there with his Mickey hands and some silly glasses on. I was immediately greated by Isaac- one of the most energetic cast members I’ve seen in a long time! He came up and said, “Princess! I’ve been waiting for you to get here!” I replied, “I got here as soon as I could!” He walked me right up to the cast member who would check me in.

The day I went home, I was picking up my checked my bags at the baggage office. Isaac came up, stuck his lip out in a pout and pretended to wipe away tears. "I'm missing you already, Princess. Come back soon, Ok?"

It's cast members like this that make WDW such a special place to go!

Does anyone out there remember Ghassan? He was a waiter at the 50's Prime Time during the early 90's and then moved over to the Crystal Palace in 1995/6 or so. We lost him after that. He was marrying a chef from the Grand Floridian.

He was absolutely hysterical and was probably most noted for carrying a gag mustard bottle - you know - the ones that have a string in them for the "would you like ketchup, how about mustard - oops - I squirted mustard on you" gag.

Sweetest guy on the planet and ALWAYS remembered you and the details you shared about your family. I adored him!

Nancy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally know who you are talking about!!! Ghassan....Ghass off he would always say!! That was our first time at Prime Time and I have pictures with him and tears rolling down my face!! We have NEVER had the same experience as we did with him. He was a total riot!! I am so glad that you mentioned him!! It was February 1994 that we were there. Wow!!! Ghassan!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I totally forgot to post some others!

We also love Art at BC. Such a nice nice man.

Gary from Artist Point and Walter from California Grill are two of the greatest servers we have had.

We have a lot of special friends....well lets just say they are a bunch of characters ;) . Most of them are not there any longer, but we are lucky enough that we are still friends outside of Disney!!! :grouphug:

Now...not at Walt Disney World, but Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort....there is Rich who is just AMAZING and a bunch of others...Lizzie, Kate and of course B'lou Crabbe.:goodvibes

One of our other favorite Cast Members....Jim McCoy our DVC Guide! :thumbsup2

I would have to say Don at AKL IPO he used to work for the Poly IPO. Just wonderful and makes sure everything is special with your trip. I remember Michael at AKL he worked at the front desk and checked us in two times. He was fantastic and went out of his way to make you feel special.

Baxter at YC he also worked at the front desk and was sooo helpful.

Prarie Girl at WCC the best server ever for a birthday. So funny and went above and beyond to make our family feel special.

Can I also mention the wonderful gentleman who's name I am ashamed to be forgetting (begins with an A, I think) - only because it's been a long time since we've stayed at OKW - The gentlemen at the greeting/bag podium under the porte-cochere. He has been there since we bought OKW in 1993 and always remembers me - no matter how long it's been.

Our future son-in-law was going to propose to our daughter after the fireworks at Disneyland on December 20th. And before he did it we paid a visit to the photo store (and the art store was connected to it) and asked for the manager. When the manager, Tonni Fisher, met us we explained the circumstances and asked her if we could have a character there, as well as a professional photographer, to capture the proposal. Well as it turned out the wind was too strong and the fireworks had to be canceled for that night and to the proposal. But when we turned around Tonni had a group of five or six ready for action (without a character, as they were done for the night). She also had in her hand a gift for the couple, a piece of artwork that the crew gave the them. It was the carriage from Cinderella. Because the fireworks were canceled the proposal occured the following night and they were engaged in front of the castle. It was wonderful.

Thank you Tonni for all of your efforts. Disney truly is a magical place.

Dave

Mine is the exact same one as my DH ScubaD (right above me)! The CM's name was actually Tonette, though (Tonni's close!) ;)

A runner-up would be Isaac Cropp, an animator who works at The Magic of Disney Animation at the Hollywood Studios. My sister and I went on the animation tour in 2003 and met him. We asked him a question as the tour group was going to the next department. He was very talkative and even drew us some sketches of Minnie Mouse and Stitch. After we were done, he walked us back to the tour group. Ironically, when we were there in 2007, he was there again, so we had another chance to talk to him and he gave us another set of sketches! A very smiley, friendly gentleman! :goodvibes

I want to say Anton...but not sure if that is correct. I know who you mean and we will be seeing him in April!:goodvibes

Another vote for Mike at the barber shop!

Make that a 3rd vote for Mike.

He was cutting my DD3 hair this past August and asked who her favorite Princess was and her reply was "Mary Poppins". He picked up the phone and called to find out where she was. 2 mins later another Cast Member showed up to escort us to where Mary Poppins was walking to. I could not thank him enough for placing that phone call.

Another vote for Art at the BC.

Also, TJ at Tower of Terror has got to be the epitome of type-casting.
