I believe they refer to you as an “undesirable mix”
BUT....if you bought DVC, you've paid them up front for 50 years, so there's that.

The point of DVC is to build and sell constantly. Disney makes some money on the administration side but it's the direct sales that matter and the cash cow. Now, if the folk coming in the DVC rooms spend $$$, even better. So ironically, the folk Disney wants to be in DVC rooms ARE the renters as they probably spend more $$$ than regular DVCers. As long as HOTEL occupancy is not affected and high, renting DVCs actually HELP Disney's park revenues more than regular DVC goers.

Not everyone with DVC and an AP spends more…there’s cheapo owners like me who go up to 4 weeks a year and spend very little…I don’t need any more souvenirs, bring my own food (cause I like it better) and don’t buy pricy ‘extras’…
I would be curious to know what the trajectory of AP/DVC owners are....

I would say on our more recent trips we have certainly started to plateau...

We only eat table service in the restaurants we "know we like"...
We are more willing to do quick service than before...

On a long trip we LOVE having our kitchen in the villa.... So nice to have the cokes from Sams Club that taste just as good at 20% of the Disney price... We love being able to warm up our leftovers from a nice meal in the oven, and usually a few days in, we have grown tired of eating Disney for every meal and just want something simple from home...

Every time we go, we seem to spend less, yet the memories are even better and more special. We especially treasure our AP photos add on... As the kids get older, I'm sure the sports add on will be something we do as well!

Unrelated note....
APs are getting more expensive and more expensive...
MKs, unless you are local are also extremely expensive... The use case is tough to justify unless you LOVE DL AND can get there very often!

I wonder if members may decide to forgo annual passes given the new benefits and instead decide to do one trip at WDW, and one at DL with the discounted options through MMB... For me, geographically, this makes no sense, but if I lived in say Chicago, I'd take a very hard look at the numbers and do a summer trip in Anaheim and my fall/winter trip in Orlando.

Well, first of, these days no one gets to rent my DVC. I had to cancel and rent a trip once back in the early years. But, my guests (family members) who will be with me on my February visit have already asked me if I want to join them at V&A's and Monsieur Paul's. My answer is no for the first and yes for the second. They will eat out 2-3 times per day.

Personally I prefer to control my own food because of food sensitivities, but I still venture into venues that I really like or want to try as was the case with my recent December visit. I remember when Disney had restaurants where the food seemed interesting. Can't get excited about the Cake Bake thing - walked in at their invitation, looked around, found nothing that tempted me.

As far as the stuff they sell in the parks even though I have little to no interest, I understand that my little granddaughters see it differently, so they get what they want. And my wallet gets lighter but they put a smile on my face.

And on an earlier Easter trip this year on my DVC points, my final tab for 5 nights was 12K for 6 of us, all of whom already had tickets, so I think this DVC family is contributing to Disney's bottom line.

Oh, please don’t think that I am defending the practice. But, most executives care only about this fiscal year because they have to hit this year’s targets. They are also all stack ranked against their peers. So if you grow your revenue by 10%, but everyone else grows at 13%… then you are on the bottom of the stack rank and job grading.

If they think otherwise, then they will just end up being replaced by whatever executives are willing to raise price or cut services in order to generate more profit. A rare few actually innovative, but most are just in it for the money and aren’t wired to take that type of risk.

So, at least the DVC executives are trying to come up with something that provides value to a portion of the membership that finance will actually approve.

I only see it on the profile section on the DVC website. I do not see it in MDE
Neither do I. In fact my MDE has managed to lose my Chase Disney cards.

I think I misunderstood @Sandisw when she said profile. I went looking in MDE first on my phone, then skipped profile on the DVC website, did search and found it. Finally went back to DVC profile and there it is, big as life.

Thank you again, @Sandisw

I definitely believe it with occupancy given all the deals out there, but attendance at parks seems busier than usual, at least currently. Were they reported as low at last quarterly?

Domestic parks yes were flat, year-over-year as of the most recent quarterly report. We will see what this quarter shows but I don't think they are any busier than a normal holiday season tbh.

They definitely seemed busier to me this year than last year when I was there this week..it’s the same week as last year. It will be interesting to see how the actual numbers compare.

Disney, like all public companies, reports figures on a quarter-by-quarter basis. They don't discuss individual weeks.

I know.,..but there have been reports that the parks seem busier this year and if that is true for the season, it will show in the quarter reports.
