Where does
DVC say they're going to kick everyone out of the lounge except folks who buy this package during character interactions?
I haven't seen that it does. We don't have enough facts on this, just lots of people jumping to conclusions.
Honestly, to me, the lounges are the least interesting "perk" to me in this whole thing. In all of my trips, I have visited a lounge once. I don't see what the fuss is about here honestly. "free" soda and a small bag of chips? For all the hype I'd expect massaging recliner chairs and club level type food offerings.
Re the tiers. This isn't new. Think club level/concierge type rooms. You used to be able to pay more for those rooms and then pay an additional fee for extra FP or something right?
Much like everything else any company offers, there will be some who see a benefit and others who do not. Personally, I'm hopeful that the discount 5 day tickets are a decent discount. There are 7 of us, and we don't generally go on weekends, so this could be well worth the $99 for us. Add on the MM, and I'm sold! We've never done OTU, and don't have enough points to throw at AP's, or really even to make multiple trips to get use out of AP's. But I'm already buying tickets an MM anyway, so it could have value to me. When it inevitable gets more expensive, maybe it won't. But in no way do I begrudge anyone else who buys it, To me, this isn't any different that the tiers for Southwest card holders. I pay an additional fee to have upgraded boarding, accumulate points faster, have A boarding and companion pass. For us, that fee is worth it for what we get. For someone who flies once a year, it probably isn't.
