Hi folks! My first DisBoard post! :earsgirl:

We have an OKW direct contract (Oct UY, blue card benefits) that we share with extended fam (purchased a long time ago by the grandparents), and we just purchased an AKV resale contract (Dec UY). My husband is on the deed of the OKW contract (he's the dude with the blue card benefits). If we get Membership Magic Beyond, is there a way to take advantage of the one time use points "2 for 1" benefit but with our AKV resale contract. I think there's maybe some creativity where we can? But my brain breaks with this sometimes... specifically, we have a AKV trip booked for Nov 2026, is there a way to get an additional night (19pts) through 2 for 1 one time use points?

Your husband is the one who has to buy MMB because he is the one who is qualified for membership extras.

He should be allowed buy OTU points on any membership he is an owner. So, the Oct or Dec UY.

He can’t buy them until 7 months before the date you want to use them since they don’t carry any home resort benefit.

It should not matter what is owned in the membership, even if one has only resale points because resale only memberships are eligible for buying full price OTU points.

What he can’t do is buy them in both memberships for the discounted price.

If hypothetically, both the husband and OP were on the direct membership, could they both buy MMB, then have one of them use MMB for discounted OTUPs on the direct contract, and the other buy discounted OTUPs on the resale contract?

I was under the impression that discounted OTUPs could only be purchased on direct (blue card) contracts. If this isn't the case, I'd be glad to hear it because it would save me a couple hundred bucks.

If I have a second membership because of 2 different different UYs, can I buy 24 OTUPs for each? Even if I am the owner of both memberships? (48 total OTUPs if I want?)

I’m going to try again this year but last year they would not let me buy the bogo otu pts on my non eligible membership. I have eligible BWV Oct UY and non eligible AKV March UY.

Last year I started the process, purchased the 12 then the CM put me on hold to get the 12 free processed. She came back and told me the system wouldn’t let her proceed, that she had contacted another dept, etc etc. I told her I thought that was wrong but she insisted. My options were to either cancel and get refunded for the 12 I had paid for, or pay for the other 12. I had a bit of a time crunch as to when I was using the points so I didn’t try to hang up and try again. So I paid for the other 12.

If I could buy them on our non eligible AKV contract, then the plan is to also sign up my husband to also buy the bogo on our BWV contract. Will be trying soonish this year.

For someone who wants to buy for two different contracts, one eligible and one not, I'd try with the non-eligible one first. That way, if the answer turns out to be a hard no, you've only bought MMB once, and can use that for the eligible membership.

This was my experience last year as well. They would only load the BOGO OTU points onto my direct contract. I haven’t tried yet this year.

The answer last year to this was yes…..I asked specifically…but my memberships are all eligible for extras…and we didn’t try.

The only way to know now is to have each owner buy MMB, and each call to purchase on a different membership.

I would not even mention resale in the call…because when that word comes up, many CMS just say, not allowed.

The risk is that you could pay $99 for the second person and be denied. If it was me, and I was, I’d ask them to point to the T and C that states that.

The rules for OTU points did not change and those with resale only memberships can pay full price for them, so as long as the person buying has not already gotten their MmB OTU point benefit, and the membership they want them for hasn’t purchased them, it seems it should be allowed.
