Members Lounge - Epcot

My family was at Epcot last week and we tried to go up in the Members Lounge mid-day and we were turned away. We were told by the CM that it was at capacity and that the waitlist was at capacity. Is this typical? Is this something you generally have to get on the waitlist very early in the morning if you want to visit any time during the day?

I don’t think that has happened often. I have gotten in at different times of the day. I was there last in the beginning of March, there was room around 11AM for us and 4 guests. Sorry it happened to you. The only time I was ever on a waitlist was toward the end of the day.

I have been fortunate that we didn’t have to wait but usually go closer to 1:00 pm ish.

But have heard of people having to wait.

When we tried last, they had to check and as they were, some people came down the steps and we were able to go right up. Otherwise, we would have had to wait.

Any one know if they're still at limited capacity?

That’s good to know! We first tried at 1:30ish and that’s when we were told at capacity and waitlist full. We were walking by at 5:40ish again and tried again, knowing they close at 6, and everything was still full. It was our first visit as direct members so we just wanted to see what it was like inside, with no intention of staying for a long time. Good to know this was probably unusual. Maybe next time we’ll have better luck!

We've visited maybe 10 times and never had that happen. We always go late morning, so maybe it gets busy by lunch and later in the afternoon.

We are usually there mid afternoon and never had to wait. But have read reports of it happening.

We have stopped by many times and only ever had to wait a minute of two at worst. never even heard of a waitlist.

I have had to wait a few times, but seldom more than 10 minutes or so. When it is hot and muggy (when is it not right now) the place gets crowded.

Still filled by a Cast Member (as of May 15). DH and DD went to the Epcot lounge around 11am that day, they were the only ones there. When the 3 of us left around 1pm, it was completely full. Not sure if there was anyone waiting but all the tables were taken.

Maybe not having a bathroom up there is to encourage turnover?

As of 5/28, CMs fill the drinks.

We went on both 5/27, right after 11am, and 5/28, just before 11am. On 5/27, we sneaked in under the waitlist because we were ok with a high top table. On 5/28, we got there 10 minutes early. CM started allowing groups up right at 11am and it filled up quickly. Apparently, GotG has increased traffic and DVC members are using the lounge to stay cool until the 1pm virtual queue is filled up.

Guardians has changed it.
I go every week and I never waited before now I’ve been turned away and had to wait the last few times.

We attempted to go up after riding figment twice this past week. Once on the 27th and then again on Monday. Both times there was a line and the second time they told us we could not wait. For what we all paid for DVC they should accommodate us somehow. Maybe open another location for busy days or at least have someone handing out drinks and snacks to those that are not allowed up.

That is why cm's will may refill drinks from now on.

They can not just open another location and will not pass out items to members that are not in the lounge.

I know for us, we have no desire to take too many bags of cheeze-its or chips. You have better knowledge about that than I do apparently. As far as drinks go, it doesn't bother me if the CM's fill them or as you stated, "will may" whatever that means. But as far as stating that they "can not" and "will not" is just not true unless you do have insider information. Disney can do whatever they want to do and there are plenty of locations they could set up another lounge to do it at.

I see CM handing out drinks as a good thing. Kids playing around and people like me who takes 5 mins just to find the sugar free lemonade.

What kind of snacks/drinks are available?

I went a couple weeks ago around 4 and there was a wait. I got on the wait list and had to leave before I got called. I got the text to enter about 20 min after signing in. Sadly I was gone.

It cost .20 for the soda cup lid and straw a refill would be about .08 and probably the same for the snack.
I don’t see an issue of cost for these items at all.
Please don’t get upset and judge the guests if they waste their soda and get an extra snack.

I usually get a refill and have 2 snacks please feel free to do the same.
