Members celebration at MK in 2017

DVC has made an effort to improve notification of scheduled member events. Things like the Member Mixers and December Condo meeting were once announced just a few weeks ahead of time. But for the last several years, DVC has at least provided dates 10-12 months in advance.

The MK party was new in 2016. Back in March '16 at the 11-month window, DVC was not even ready to commit to bringing the event back, much less provide specific dates. If events like the MK parties, AK parties and Beach Bash become recurring, I suspect advance notice will increase. But it will take a couple more years of evaluation and coordination with park schedulers before that can happen.

Someone already mentioned that you probably don't have to be staying on points...my question is do you need a park ticket for the day? We will be in Orlando for that first date, but won't be staying at Disney or going to the parks - however, if we would be allowed to attend the event anyways we would definitely sign up!

For the prior after hours events at MK & DAK, you would enter as early as 7 pm using just the wristband they issued for the event.

Dang - that would be awesome! We have not been able to attend any member events of any kind so far, so this would be great if we can. Anyone know how many people you are allowed to bring? My wife and I are on the DVC membership. My DD is not named on it (she is only 13) and my DMIL will be with us as well. Ideally we could get all 4 of us in, but even if just the two of us or us and DD we would probably still do it.

I believe they allowed for the member plus up to 5 guests for those not staying on-property for the MK & DAK after hours events held earlier this year.

Stalked the resort availability tool a couple of days ago for Feb 24 and finally lucked out with a 1 BR value villa at Jambo. I know we might not have to stay on property to go to the MK party, but it's way more convenient. We made an early dinner reservation at Sanaa to go to before the DVC party. Feeling happy!

Booked the 4th at Wilderness lodge and have a waitlist for BLT. I can't wait for this event!

Did you see that now the announcement says 3/3 instead of 3/4? Sheesh. What's the point if putting out an announcement that says "Save the Date" if you're going to change the date? I got a 1br at Kidani for that weekend, but I'm going to cancel it.

Yes, I had to switch my reservation from the 4th to the 3rd.

I was able to get a studio at VGF for the 2nd and 3rd now. I could not get ANY studio before on the 4th,(only the 3rd) people all grabbed them. Oops. I had to change my flight, too, glad I used Southwest, no fee to switch it.

(We need to come in a day before to be rested for the party day.) After those 2 VGF we move on down the road to All Star Movies, lol.

There were fireworks during the MK after hours event earlier this year, but no parade. Select attractions in Tomorrowland, Fantasyland & Liberty Square were open.

I had booked the 4th when it was initially announced. Then changed to the 3rd. Got a Kidani std studio. Hope they don't change the date again.

I had to call member services, and realized during the call that I made a ridiculous mistake on my reservation, which was why I could not link it to MDE. They were able to cancel and un-borrow the points, which was pretty amazing, did not expect that to be possible.

In the course of that long conversation, I mentioned the DVC party. The CM told me it was on March 4. I said, "no, they corrected it to March 3rd." She said, "they need to tell us these things!". Yikes. I now need a room for March 2 and 3, but i will get something eventually (on $$).

We're staying on points the day after the party at Poly but I added a night at Coronado Springs the night of the event to take advantage of it. Figured it was worth $230 but not the $1000 plus on a room at Poly. I see this on the 25th Anniversary Bash - Complimentary transportation is available before, during and after the event between Magic Kingdom park and Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort. We do have a car with us as a backup.

We stayed at POP for one of the MK events (out of points!), and a bus was waiting to take us back there when we left the party. I think we were the only people on it!

Saw a post on FB that sign up is Dec 1 for people with a resort reservation, not in January. Dec 6 for no reservation. I am hoping my March cash reservation will work on Dec 1.

I thought I could not worry about it until January, why say January and then move it to December? So odd, but I will try to call on Dec 1.
