My family and I will be arriving at VWL on July 24th and I was thinking about attending the Block Party on that Tuesday but I was wondering where it is at, what time it is and what exactly it is. Thanks so much. :earsboy:

We are arriving at VWL on the 23rd and we are from PA too! The block party is from 5-7 at Pleasure Island. From what I've heard, there will be some entertainment and snacks around. Not sure if we'll make it there, but look for us at the Lodge!

It starts at 5pm and ends at 7pm. If you are interested in the raffle you have to be there. Basically outdoors there will be Carnival games. (Basketball, Squirt gun races. ) Indoors there are free video games. There is also an indoors area with music and dancing and a line for a free 5 min massage.

We will be there that week! Be sure to say, "HI!" if you spot my Dis lanyard.

We will also be there on July 26th! Looks like a lot of fun for our family.

Thanks everyone you have been a big help. Hope to see you all there, blossomz we are from Perkasie not that far from York. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

We went to the first block party they had on 7/5.
It was real fun. Don't forget to bring the children and you can bring guests with you also.
You show your DVC card as you go through the specially sectioned off area in Pleasure Island. They hand you each a goody bag which has coupons for free icecream popcorn, a light up DVC pin and a raffle ticket. There are free drinks available also. They have a family trivia constest indoors. All partcipants get a free peppermint pig from SSR.
The children hula hoop to the music
There are many arcade games for which no coins or tokens are required and fair like games where you can win an actual gift. There is pin trading with the CMs. If you want good pins it's best to arrive early. We didn't arrive until 6p, by then all the good DVC pins were gone. There's also balloon toys made up for the kids.
This was definately the place to be for a couple of hours.
The proximity to the AMC theater or the market place is a bonus :cheer2:

We just came back from the 7/13 block party and had a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend getting there early. The lines for the fair games were shorter between 5-6 pm. They grew much longer once people realized they were free and stuff animal prizes were being given away.

At the end of the block party, you can ask for the balloon decorations from 1 of the cast members and they will be more than happy to let you take them. My wife was walking around Downtown Disney with about 12 balloons with a Mickey balloon on top. Turned out to be free advertising for DVC.

We will be there. We fly in July 23 and staying at VWL. Our plan is to be at Typhoon Lagoon when it opens, stay until 3 or so, then head to the block party by 5.
