I just wanted to pass on what happened today. I just received a call about 1/2 ago regarding standard studios at AK coming out of inventory in January and MS upgraded my guest to a Savanna view at Kidani and they also swallowed the point difference. On top of that, they took my expiring points and put them in my 2016 use year. I squealed with joy when I saw my expiring points in 2016! I was going to lose these points too. I feel like I've won the lottery! I'm actually crying right now. :worship: I LOVE YOU AMANDA AND MEMBER SERVICES! :santa:

I had the same thing happen to me last night! They upgraded me from a studio at Jambo to a 1 bedroom at Kidani! I did not get the points but I got free park tickets for 3 days. We were going for a wedding and just doing a no park short 4 day trip

congrats, very lucky. I just need one night in a studio at any resort January 17th. Maybe your luck will spread :)

I saw on another thread that AKV Jambo renovations start January 10th.

Excellent! Now that's what I call pixie dust! :tink:

Wow, you folks are lucky. I Booked VWL in April for a December stay and was told in August (by letter) there would be extensive construction. at VWL. Trails closed, quiet pool dug out, trees cleared the beach closed, marina closed and fences everwhere, I called the Disney Recovery people who sent me a letter and asked to be moved, I gave them 3 first choice resorts and 2 second choice resorts. No they said, nothing available. I called them daily, no return calls. I waitlisted the GF, it did not come through. I was on the DVC booking site daily for months. We went in December or we would lose our vacation time and airfare. We had an awful time. We are not much for parks, DH has a reconstructed foot, screws and plates. It swells when he walks a mile or two and if he continues to walk it really swells and he is very uncomfortable. Disney did not reduce our points, only offered fast passes and a park pass for my hubby. He does not really go to the parks due to his foot. However the noise was awful and we wanted to enjoy some Florida sunshine so we went to the parks. The parks were crowded. After standing in line for a looong time we finally got our fast food. We ate our dinner over a trash can as there was no place to sit.

We had a horrible vacation. We could not go to the main pool, too busy and noisy. No quiet pool, they dug it out itwas a dirt hole in the ground. While we were at VWL there were Power Saws and big equipment working all day. I actually sat in the room and cried. I have asked Disney to return our points. They won't talk to us. They say they are a financial institution and cannot discuss our stay over the internet. I can't call them as I cannot make personal phone calls at work.

Has anyone else had Disney say they will not communicate via emai? I will post their email to me.

I would suggest taking the time on a lunch break to call on your cell and talk to management about your experience. Your best bet is to always handle these issues before you leave the grounds. I did not see where you are from but they are open 9-7:30 ET M-F which gives you a long time to call. They do not really know who you are by email but vocally, followed up with an email outlining your conversation, would be best

good luck

You are really going to have to call them and escalate it to a manager.

Actually an email should be enough IMO and has been for others, including me. Where are you sending your email? But they also are open long hours so unless you work 10 hour shifts Mon-Sun there should be a time to contact them by phone. 9 to 7:30 eastern M-F and 9 to 5:30 Sat & Sun.

I received a call yesterday from MS regarding my Jambo Studio 2 night stay at the end of March. They needed to move me due to the renovations. I was given a 1 bedroom Kidani Savannah room and after I pressed them a little I was able to get park hopper tickets with our stay too. I rather have stayed in the Jambo house and was a little disappointed, but receiving the park tickets made my day. Personally we don't spend a lot of time in the room so I really didn't care about the room upgrade.

I wonder if they are just doing the regular villas because I just picked up a Jambo Value studio for one night in January

They are probably taking a certain number out of service each month, not all of them. At BWV, they did the renovations one floor/one section at a time.

I got the same call for my value studio for my 7 night stay on 2/24. They wanted to put me in a Savanah studio at Kadani. I told them that doesn't work for me. I said if they could please find me something in Jambo I did not need a Savanah just to be at Jambo. The woman asked me why? I said if you look at my history I never book Kadani because of no late night food options. She said Ok that is a valid reason let me see what I can do. She came back and said I could have a 1 bedroom for the whole trip no extra points needed. I did not need anything else as we have Premier passes, Just to be in Jambo. I am happy it worked out.
