Friday I got a call from Member Services confirming my email, phone and address. He said that I'll be getting a call with an exciting offer from my guide shortly. Anyone know what it is about?

Not a clue. Our guide called us out of the blue about 2 weeks ago, but he didn't mention anything.

This is a sales ploy by Disney Vacation Development, not MS.

Disney knows your information, it's verified every time you make a reservation and they have your address because they mail you your dues info every year.

Calling creates excitement and it works because there have been several threads about the same subject during that last couple of weeks. It also gives the ASA the opportunity to connect you through to your Guide if he/she is available when they call.

I got the call as well. I told them to email the info. I was a little annoyed because they called during work hours. Anyway, the deal is a $500 gift card for adding at least 100 points at AKV, Aulani, or SSR (I think!)

I got the email from Kelly Jo. It is an offer to purchase at Aulani, AKL, BLT, SSR. 50 point levels at some of them.

Price is AUL $135, AKL $125, BLT $155, SSR $105

Didn't they just announce that SSR is sold out? Why would they offer an incentive to add on there? I'm shocked at the prices now!

We just added on. The current offer for AKV is $125.00 a point. At 50 points the incentive is $6.00 off a point. If you go 100 points or higher than it is $10.00 off per point with a $500 disney gift card. Our guide said if we wanted to add on to SSR he would have to check the inventory as some points do become available but to consider SSR as sold out. He stated the big push now was to sell out AKV. As far as Grand Floridian goes, we asked him when we could expect to see an offering. He told us that it will not be until late spring 2013 at best. He added that it will only be 147 units and expect the pricing to be above current "direct sale BLT" prices. The point structure is expected to be high as well. Guess we will wait and see.

There are different types of Guides. They have Guides that work from home and they are called Tele-Sales Guides. It might be that group that is working this program. If your Guide isn't from this group, you might not get contacted.

DVD also selects target groups based on your credit score, points owned, and other information.

I don't recall the $10 off a point/disney gift card for 100+ AKV when i checked a few months ago. Wonder if they might sweeten the pot even more before GF is released?

We just added on 100 pts. at AKV last week while on a cruise, with the above incentives, plus 2011 pts. and 18 Fast Passes. We thought we got a great deal!

I got a call while at BLT the last week in January. We are not adding on so I didn't call back. Then a few days a ago a woman called on behalf of my guide. She asked if I wanted him to call with an offer. Seemed kinda weird they were making test calls.... I just said no we are not adding on anytime soon.

This Canadian never gets called either. I don't mind missing the sales call as I have not intention of adding-on, but I do remember my guide at the time we bought (he's no long with Disney I think) telling us that on every visit there will be a voice mail from him even before we check in. Got one call in the 4 times we have visited since being members.
