We are DVC members, but do not have any points to use at the moment, so this trip we are staying at the Swan, we got a really good deal and our friends will be there too. When I read our member newsletter, it mentions to take advantage of member perks you need to present your DVC membership card AND a current key to the world imprinted DVC Member. Will they put this on our key at the Swan? And do I really need that to take advantage of the perks?

We have never been asked to also show a room card to get a perk, just the DVC Member card has always worked for us.

I'm almost sure I remember reading that you must be a DVC member staying on points in order to take advantage of those perks - a cash stay somewhere else won't do it. Hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

Some perks are only available when staying at a DVC resort on points. For example, pool hopping and many of the recreational & dining options. For those, you do need to show the KTTW card and sometimes, your blue member card as well.

Other perks are available even if you are not staying at a DVC resort on points. For example, the 25% discount on AP/PAP tickets, and valet parking. You only need your member card for those.

I believe the 20% discount at most of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants only requires your blue member card. I don't recall being asked for my KTTW card when we took dvantage of that perk.

Best wishes -

I was in Orlando last weekend playing while DH attended a training session. We were staying offsite but had no problem getting the DVC discount several places by only showing our member card and not a room key.

I have never been asked to show my room key, only member card

Is there a place I can get a complete list of current DVC perks?

Yes, the current ones are always on the DVC website. I usualy check before each trip, since they seem to change often.

My wife and I just got back from a trip to the Swan. They do not have KTTW Cards. Their room keys have a picture of the Swan and Dolphin, with Epcot in the middle. Their room keys can be used to charge things on the Swan and Dolphin property, but not at any Disney places outside of that resort. We had to buy separate tickets, too.

Most "discount" perks, like dining and DVC resort valet parking require the blue member card and are not tied to a DVC resort stay.

"Activity" perks, like pool hopping, require you to be staying at DVC resorts on points.

Thank you Chuck, I knew we wouldn't be able to do pool hopping, but I wasn't sure about the dining.

The ones that come to mind where you must be staying on points and the member present are the Golf discounts (regular, not mini golf), members discount, pool hopping and formerly, the LOS passes. All the others like DQ, dining, mini golf, minor parks and valet parking, only require you be a member at the present time.

Could someone please post the current perks? I can't seem to access the secure section of the web site, could you please post the current perks available?

Thanks....
