Member number question

Two years ago we were in the process of buying DVC, but had to cancel the contract before it finalized. We received membership cards at that time.... fast forward to now. We are in the process of buying again. The first time I spoke with our Guide he said we were showing up in the system?? Anyway, my question is this, will I keep the old membership number or will they issue me a new number?
