Being new to DVC and BCV, I am curious if anyone has traded one of their Disney weeks for some of the places listed in the Member Getaways guide? Where did you go and how many points did you "spend" to get there?

Haven't done it myself but DD made arrangements today to have a week at Vail Colorado the end of March. She will be getting a 1 bedroom unit at Vail Streamside Douglas for 160 points. She tried to trade her RCI unit and was told she would have to plan two years in advance so guess II and DVC packs more punch. It is something she has wanted to do for years and when they said they had this unit which was exactly what she wanted it seemed meant to be. I don't know if other people have been as lucky. Can't say that this is exactly the type of getaway you meant but think the cost in points is more than fair based on everything she has researched on this resort.

We have traded to the Marriott Newport Beach, the Plaza in NY, the Jefferson Hotel in Washington, and have a trade scheduled for March to the Marriott at HH. We are planning a trip to Old Cedar Lodge sometime in the future. We have enjoyed trades and plan to have more in the future. It is very easy and we haven't had any trouble getting just what we wanted. I don't remember the numbers exactly but for the HH trip it is 232 for a week. It was about 218 for the Marriott Newport Beach for a week. They are both 2 bedrooms. We could have stayed at Disney HH for the week, but we wanted closer to the water. Hope this has helped.

I used 301 points for 9 days/8 nights at the Mauna Lani Resort in Hawaii. It was fabulous!

The Sagamore, Lake George, New York was a place we used our points, 156 points for 3 nights . The suite usually goes for $450 per night. We got killed by using points but we are just getting tired of WDW and felt like going to a real resort where you are really treated as guests. It is a great place to get away and relax. The food was exceptional and the service was great.
