Just got my Clubhouse email tonight and it states that BCV is officially sold out...and it was the fastest ever sales....

Welcome Home to you 10,000 BCV owners.....

Also included in the "Clubhouse" is an announcement about the Vacation Planner- a companion to the Guidebook.

New Member Guidebook companion coming
Members always look forward to receiving their Member Guidebook for planning vacations. Well, now there's something even better to look forward to. Introducing the Vacation Planner, a new companion to the Member Guidebook that makes planning your next magical getaway faster and easier. That's because your Vacation Planner will focus on Vacation Point charts along with key pieces of information on making, changing, and canceling reservations. By streamlining content and not repeating resort information that doesn't change much from year to year, this useful new book will be much easier to navigate. Look for it to arrive in your home next month. Be sure to hold on to your Member Guidebook, which remains a great reference source for information about your Membership. Happy planning!

Doc, you beat me to that. I was just going to point out that little blurb.

So don't throw away your Member Guidebooks, folks. Looks like we are only going to get point charts and info on banking, cancelling and making reservations.

Probably will save us some dues money only producing that info every year. Although I would have liked a MG with SSR resort info on it.

The part of the member email I'm confused about is the Refurbishment list. It conflicts with the list on the Disney site. Anyone know which list is more accurate?

I would apprciate it if someone would "copy and paste" the Member Clubhouse e-mail. I haven't got 1 in 3 months.
Thanks.....

Ok I will give it try:D

Developer News
And they're off!
Right out of the gate, presales of Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort are off to a record pace, thanks in part to Disney Vacation Club Members who've shown great interest in our newest Resort. With construction progressing nicely and model rooms now open, everyone's jockeying for position to get in on the ground floor of this resort located just across the lake from the Downtown Disney® area.

With its colorful Victorian era architecture and bubbling springs, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort will get hearts racing as it recaptures the heyday of Upstate New York country retreats. This area's rich heritage will be reflected in our new Resort. In fact, Saratoga Springs, New York's theme "Health, History, Horses" resembles the three prominent themes found at the Resort.

You'll find it will be the perfect setting in which to gather with family and friends to relax, reconnect, and rejuvenate the spirit. And with the new 50-year Membership at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, you can continue that tradition longer than ever before.

That will give you plenty of time to get a taste of the tradition of Saratoga Springs. In past issues of Member Clubhouse, we've told you about everything from the Peppermint Pig holiday tradition, to the new food and beverage area at the Resort. And here's another tasty tidbit about something else that got its start in Saratoga Springs—the potato chip, celebrating its 150th birthday this year!

Back in the summer of 1853, a diner at the restaurant of Saratoga Springs' posh Moon's Lake House resort ordered fried potatoes with his meal. The chef, George Crum, prepared the potatoes in the standard, thick-cut French style that was popularized in France in the 1700s. The story goes that the diner complained that the potatoes were too thick and sent them back. After another attempt and subsequent rejection, Crum decided to get back at the guest by cutting the potatoes paper-thin, heavily salting, and refrying them.

To Crum's surprise, however, the diner and his friends literally ate up the "crunch potato slices." In no time at all they became a specialty at Moon's Lake House and became known as Saratoga Chips. Their popularity grew in the area, and when Crum started his own restaurant called "Crumb's House," he placed large baskets of the chips on every table. Before long, Saratoga Chips could be found in restaurants up and down the East Coast. And soon after, they became known as potato chips.

Last month in Saratoga Springs, a press conference was held to commemorate the birth of the potato chip. It's truly amazing that what started as a prank by George Crum has become one of America's favorite snack foods—and another tasty tale of Saratoga Springs.

News of Note
Memorable Member Days
There's magic in the air anytime Disney Vacation Club Members get together. That was certainly true this summer as our Member Days proved to be quite popular. Each Tuesday, about 1,000 Guests flocked to Disney's BoardWalk Resort and Disney's Beach Club Villas to celebrate and get to know their Disney neighbors. There were guest speakers at Atlantic Dance Hall, special Member Day activities (like the Member Day Barbecue and other Member socials), discounts, and more. Watch for news of additional Member events in future issues of Member Clubhouse and Vacation Magic. And be sure to attend, because it's a great way to find out that Members are truly magical!

Pool hopping policy
Please remember that unless you're a registered Guest of Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, pool hopping is never allowed at Stormalong Bay and Uzima Pool. Quiet pools at those resorts are also off-limits, unless you are a registered Guest of the resort. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Due to the high occupancy that is expected, Members may not "pool hop" from November 24 - November 30, 2003, and December 20, 2003 - January 3, 2004. On other dates, if you're pool hopping at another resort, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate registered Guests staying at that resort. Please call ahead to the Front Desk of the destination resort to check pool availability, and visit dvcmember.com for updates.

Priority Seating
Planning ahead usually results in a more magical vacation. With that in mind, Walt Disney World® Food & Beverage is implementing a consistent advance booking window for all Walt Disney World Resort dining locations that accept Priority Seating. These locations will now accept Priority Seating bookings 90 days in advance, with the following exceptions:

Even better news is that all of our highly popular character dining experiences may now be booked 90 days in advance. So whether you want to attend the "Once Upon A Time" breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table at the Magic Kingdom® Park or the "Princess Storybook Breakfast" at Restaurant Akershus (in the Norway pavilion at Epcot), be sure to call ahead and plan on having a memorable feast.

To make a Priority Seating reservation for a Walt Disney World Resort dining location, please call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463).

Doc,

Just curious/hoping that more will be coming from DVC than the supplemental information instead of brand new member guidebooks?

mommystieg, thanks for the cut and paste. Maybe I'll get the next email - it's kind of like the lottery with me, sometimes I get lucky.

Again, Thanks.

mommystieg

"Thank you"....I appreciate it. Maybe DVC will get there on-line communications, account info, etc into the 20th century someday. :(
