Howdy TR readers. I'm sorry I've been so lax on the updating. Do you guys even CARE that I went on a WDW trip anymore?

Things are SORT OF settling down here. I say sort of because SD is on meds now, which are making him somewhat more happy. He's not up to the full dosage yet, they work it up a little at a time, so when he is maybe he'll be completely normal again?

UnBob is still having some issues (you know...) but he's sort of mending.

And I just found out yesterday that I have to have another Glaucoma surgery in two weeks. This one is much more invasive and the recovery is a couple of weeks. I am hoping that I'll still be able to see out of my other eye, and maybe get some updating done then...but who knows?

Things have been really odd here this year people! I want to try to get Bob to type his pear a'sailing report SOON, but he's travelling almost every week now and it's hard.

Before I add anything else, I have to say how much I love you all. The loving, kind wishes you all posted for me just melt my heart.

I've made an executive decision. I decided not to post a reply with all your sweet and wonderful quotes! Because things are so nuts here still, and I have time to either a. finally update my TR or b. post a nice reply with all your multi-quotes I decided that you'd rather the update!

As usual, you guys make me glad that I can say I DIS!!! Thank you so much.

The surgery is scheduled for Oct. 20th. It should have been sooner but we had alot of testing to do first. I'll try to have NOTBOB post a message here and on TFW to let you know that I'm alive.
And, for those of you who haven't heard on other threads, SD is doing great. He's on medication which has helped SO much. He continues to work on ways to handle his anxiety but at least we are moving forward.

Where is it???

Wow, it feels like this trip was 5 months ago! Whoa! What’s that you say? It HAS been 5 months!? Oh. Well, lucky for you guys that I had the foresight to jot down some notes while I was driving from FL to MI. Bob said, “What on earth are you doing over there?!” Me: “Making Notes for the TR.” Bob: “Notes? Good God woman! How could you FORGET what you’ve done?” Me: “Oh, you don’t know. Say we get back home and son #1 has panic attacks, your parents visit, my mother visits, school starts, you travel to far-flung places and we have another Disney trip before I write the TR for this one????” Bob: “Yeah, right. That’s all gonna happen....”

So, about 5 months ago, we left off in Epcot. I think. Yes, we did. I remember now! The lady with the extremely unfortunate fashion sense....

Well, the wise people at CR cancelled Bob’s parasailing adventure because the thunderstorm gods were banging on their drums. It was a great storm. Very rainy and big and flashy. Very Disney. We’ve been rescheduled to tomorrow at 9:30 am and we travelled back to the BWV to see the boys. They opted to go back to the room and play World of Warcraft. (that’s the WOW) I recall that we swam briefly before we showered up for the return to Epcot. It was still drizzling rain when we left BWV. We decided to try the boat for our trip back. We poncho’d up and off we went!

Not sure what Bob is “saying” here....

The walk is short in through the Int. Gateway but it was sort of wet and sloshy outside so we tried the boat. It was a LONG ride. I think it took about 35 minutes to get to the gateway. Upon our arrival at the “back door” we tried to get the boys to agree on a ride. They were sort of ambivalent about the whole thing. Frankly, I think they were a bit worn out by this point. It was HOT and HUMID, rainy and had been almost a week of vacation. On our way through W.S. we spotted this.

Yeah. I don’t see it either. Bob insisted that on his Segway tour with SD they were shown a bunch of hidden mickeys. This is one in the train set in Germany. Ok.

We rode Mission Space (the green side, because I refuse to let my family ride the orange one, despite the fact that they did so repeatedly when it first opened.....)

and I think we will be forever doing that last minute scramble to figure out what SPOT to stand on so that everyone gets the place they want inside the “ship.” We made one more stop over at Test Track to ride those speedy little GM cars. At this point SD decided to leave us. He wanted another turkey sandwich from Sunshine Seasons. His plan after that was to leave the park via the I.G. and return to BWV to hang out in the room. He was “DONE.”

It occurred to me (months later....) that he was already feeling badly at this point. Never during the trip did I figure it out though. He is a solitary, quiet kid usually so it didn’t seem odd to me that he wanted to be alone...

So, SD took off for sandwiches and video games and we decided to take Gus to Mexico. We rode the newly designed 3 Cabellaros Riviera Del Tiempo (or something like that). I’m not impressed. Sorry. The old ride was dorky and dated but I liked it. The new one is alot of video (which makes the ride feel somehow “less”) and there is alot of SHOUTING. I don’t like to be SHOUTED at.
It was getting pretty late by this point. I think it was around 10 pm. The CS and TS places were all shutting down. The baffling part was that it was EMH night. We never did figure that one out.

Gus was starving, as were we, and since he LOVES him some fish n chips, we decided to try to RUN around to the other side for some. This is NOT a small distance, people! It’s like 12 Disney Miles. That’s like 4 miles everywhere else, but in Disney where there are things to see, items to browse, music, lights, small shiny objects etc. that multiplies every distance by 3 !!! I had to practically drag Gus around the world!!! We got hung up at the drawbridge near the African Outpost thingy. I didn’t even know that there WAS a drawbridge. Apparently they use it to bring the barges in for the nighttime show, ROE. By now Bob is very hungry too. And he’s complaining loudly that he doesn’t like fish. He wants a hamburger. Ok, Ok. We will stop in the Good Old U. S. of A. for the burger, on the way!
He leaves us and we keep running. No. I didn’t ask if we should keep running. I didn’t ask if he wanted me to wait for him. I just ran. Well, shuffled quickly....
On the way, I happen to see this:

Oh, sweet orangey alcoholic deliciousness! Oh, how I love you. Grand Marnier Slushy. yummmmmm.
So, we stopped in France for that. Just for a second though. Really.

Then we took off again. Still no sign of Bob, with or without cheeseburger. Poor fella. Hope he catches up....

We finally dashed into the UK just as they were rolling up the sidewalks.

I ran inside the bar and got :
Yeah. I am pretty predictable. You know. Come on, say it with me....

and a
BASS ALE

I didn’t know where Bob was, but I knew if he ever found us, he’d want beer.

Then I got in line for Gus’ Fish N Chips. Poor kid. He waited patiently. I sipped on the wonderful, orange slushy while he ate fries with an obscene amount of ketchup. Seriously, my kids take the Ronald Regan “ketchup is a vegetable” thing a bit far....

And Gus, calling for help no doubt.

“Hello. Disney Child Welfare? Yes, my mother abandoned my father for a frozen drink and I think he’s lost. She now has two other drinks in front of her, but my dad is still missing!”

So, the sad story is this. Bob never got a cheeseburger. He also didn’t have a:
Funnel Cake
Taco
Sesame Chicken
Sushi
Bratwurst
Apple strudel
Lasagna
or
a Croissant.

He made it to Morocco, practically fainting with hunger and they very graciously agreed to give him hummus, pita bread and chicken tangine so that he could limp the rest of the way “around the world” to find his family. Not that they CARED. Not that they were the slightest bit concerned about him....

He arrived in the UK looking a bit flushed. But, his good manners (and my cold Bass Ale) prevented him from saying anything he might have regretted later. Smart man, my Bob.

Gus and I perused the Tea shop and spoke with a delightful chap about our favourite teas. He suggested something called Yorkshire Tea. I would love to know what that is and where to get it. Please tell me if you know!
We purchased a box of apple cinnamon chamomile tea and some shortbread cookies. The kind chap threw in about 10 teabags of loose varieties. Yummy!

We returned to the table to find that Bob had bought MORE drinks. The “you don’t have to go to your hotel, but you can’t stay here” music was playing so we grabbed our drinks, Gus and purchases and made for the back door.

You know what happened?

You know, don’t you!?

Yep.

I did it again. I smuggled the booze out. AGAIN. That’s the third time, if you’re the kind of person who likes to keep track of that kind of stuff.

I’m a repeat offender.

We got back to BWV and spotted SD out for a stroll. He wanted a slushy from the slushy guy. He took Gus and Bob and they went out SLUSHY HUNTING. I made it to the room, laid out our stuff for the next day, checked phone messages, and then showered. That’s the third shower today. WOW! Then I crashed into bed and watched Disney Cartoons. Tomorrow we are supposed to go to Vero, according to my plans but we are NOT.
