Mel's Pre-trip Report: Interactive Version

My CP didn't tell me there was an update here:headache:

Perhaps that is why it's bad to wait several weeks between updates....
Day 8!!! Our last Disney Day....:sad1:

Ya think:rolleyes1

1
This is our first Disney trip that we haven't eaten at Chef Mickey's for our last morning. It's sort of a tradition. But, those darn people called and booked it before I did! :sad2: Do you guys like Boma? I can only remember that we liked the juice. So what's good here?

So you start a new tradition:thumbsup2

are hitting the road to Chattanooga as soon as we have our food set. We are staying in a B&B just on the Georgia side of the TN border. They have a gorgeous 1800s house!

We definitely want pics of this:thumbsup2

COLOR="red"]Do you guys have any last day rituals?[/COLOR]

When driving - Jim sleep all day on travel day and me, Jimmy and my mom hit DTD to soak up some last minute Disney fun.

THis year we are flying and we don't fly out until 4:30 so we have breakfast ressies for Kona. I am going to try Tonga toast for the 1st time:banana:

Awww, too bad you couldn't get into Chef Mickey's for your last day tradition but I have heard great things about Boma, and hey you never know somebody may cancel CM last minute. :thumbsup2

Last day ritual...

DTD for last minute souvies!!! Always pick up a frame for a trip picture!!!

Oh...and sob uncontrollably! ::yes::

Just wanted to stop in and say hi, and that I was enjoyng your report.

I've only done the dinner package for Hollywood & Vine. The food was just okay, but it was the best choice with my 2 nieces as part of the group. The biggest problem with the dinner packages is that they make you eat so early. I'd really rather just get there early and wait if the crowds aren't too busy.

Last year I ate I ate at Brown Derby, it just wasn't part of the package. Since we went in Sept. the crowds were light and we didn't have any problems getting a Fantasmic seat. The restaurant is one of my favorites.

Hi Mel! I checked out the B&B a few days ago! it looks really pretty, a nice way to wid down after a busy vacation!! and I was extra intersted because My Mom used to own a B&B near the beach here in RI, Thats why we moved from Northampton MA to RI, I was a senior in HS,,

Lessa has a good point, if your dead set on Chef Mickeys, call in the morning. maybe something will be open. but then you might miss a great new experience at Boma! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone. I'm so lazy I am NOT going to multi-quote. Sorry. I have such a mess here from the cookout yesterday.

Wings: THANK YOU for coming by! I am planning on making this a TR (instead of a PTR) very soon! Considering how my last trip went (ugh, read my tr ....) this should be pretty interesting. I agree about the Fantasmic pkg's making you eat WAY too early. Really, it eats up the same amount of time as just waiting would, only you get to do it sitting and eating....:rotfl2:

I have not tried Brown Derby. DH are there alone in Aug. maybe then?

Jen: I know, I know. The sobbing. Boohoo....;)
Can't wait to read your adventures! Pic frame is a great idea, thanks! :thumbsup2

Carrie: A new tradition. I likey! ::yes::

Janet: DH and I are eating at Ohana the last morning...do they have TT there? I think the DTD is a great idea for a last minute thing. I will write that down!

Jo: Yes! Hot fudge sundae are the BEST poptarts. Tell me if you don't have them. I'll buy you some at FF.

Jmskinner/Katt: Cry! Yes! :worried: I do that. Check!

Mary: Hi Mary! Yes, I think that I've heard that tip about the Fantasmic shows before...

-------------

Ok everyone! I'll be changing this to a TR in just 13 days! Whoo Hoo!     My DH said the other night, "You aren't bringing that laptop with you. You'll be DISing the whole time and barely talk to us." WHAT??!! :( Not likely! So, then I asked, can I at least make PAPER notes for my TR so I don't forget what we did...."NO." I'm gonna anyway. Nanner:banana: Nanner:banana: Boo Boo.

Does anyone know the "correct" method for changing it to a TR? Or do you just start a new one?

MEL:banana:

Mel,

You can PM one of the mods (OhMari) and ask her to move your report to the TR board or else you can just start a new thread on that board, if you don't want to combine the two. It's up to you!

No problem! I'm home from church with a sick kid. :( We're supposed to drive up to Chicago tomorrow and do the American Girl Place on Tuesday for her birthday, but she's had a 103-104 fever since Thursday night. I just hope she gets better today!:(

:sad2: O'Hana breakfast is family style. They bring a wok full of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, waffles to your table. They will refill as many times as you want. You can get TT at Captain Cooks, which is the counter service plac at the Poly!

Hope she feels better Jodi.

BTW :offtopic: : CONGRATS TO THE RED WINGS:banana:

Poor Jodi's DD! Have you been to the American Girl store before? It's gorgeous! We've been several times (no, I don't have DD's....:rotfl: ) I love Chicago. We lived in Peoria for 4 years and spent alot of time there. Across the street from the AGS is a place where you can get theatre tix for 1/2 price. We got Blue Man tix there!
The theatre is small and AWESOME!

Hope she feels up to the trip!

Thanks for the tips, Mel. We've already got tix to the AG show and reservations for lunch in the AG cafe. The theatre tickets say that they're non-refundable, so I'm hoping she feels better soon. She's actually on the phone right now with a girl from her class who is also supposed to go to AG tomorrow. But she has a fever too! There must be something going around!

My DH grew up outside of Chicago in NW Indiana, so we're pretty familiar with Chicago as well. We're driving up tomorrow, staying in Portage, IN and taking the South Shore train into the city for the day on Tuesday. Then we'll drive back to Indy Tuesday evening.

She got over $100 for her birthday to buy stuff at the store, so we'll have fun shopping. I just hope she starts feeling better. The tylenol I gave her this morning got rid of the fever for now. Let's just hope it doesn't come back! I may give the doctor a call this afternoon since it's been 72 hours now.

Not long to go now Mel :yay: Personally I would start a new thread for the TR as you'll attract more new readers without the PreTR to read through :thumbsup2
