Mel's Pre-trip Report: Interactive Version

Day Six!!! It's not too exciting....

Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 6. This is going to be a "less intense" day. I'm not sure anyone out there thought that our days so far were crazy but we try to keep it down a bit. During some trips we visit a park every day, barely have time to visit the pool before we collapse into bed at night and then make rope drop the next morning. Nothing wrong with that plan! :cool1::cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: But, I like to MEANDER. You know this term? Yeah, you can see Buzz do this in his report. He meanders. I also meander. And the "tour-eat-sleep-tour" schedule wrecks the meander. So, this trip has more menadering.

MEL'S PRETRIPPIE NOW WITH 50% MORE MEANDERING!

So, anyhoo, I meant to say that this day is sort of a repeat of Day 4. We will drive out to Vero Beach and enjoy their lovely sun, sand and surf. Of course, this trip we should be wiser about how long it will take, the amenities available, food, etc. It's good to know what you're getting into. The fact that the FIRST Vero day will involve NOT knowing what I'm getting into assures that I will NOT enjoy it. It's weird, I know. But, I just know that I won't. That's because I'm sort of anal and type A. :sad2: My family has learned to deal with this....

We will be returning fairly early though. This is because Gus and DH have a 5 p.m. tee-time at the Oak Trail Golf Course at WDW. It is a 9 hole, walking course. This is their first time golfing in Disney and I wanted to go easy on them. I imagine that Goofy will want some "downtime" while they are away. He's my quiet kid. He needs time to be alone and do "quiet" stuff. Or, he's miserable later. I don't mean he's mean or unpleasant, but he will be OFF. And that stinks! :confused3

When the DH and Gus return from golfing, I am going to suggest that we all make a trip to the pool and have dinner/drinks down there. Maybe walk around the BW and BC area a bit. (That's meandering....::yes::) I just want to have a night of relaxation. Maybe a movie and dinner in our room if the weather is uncooperative. :umbrella:

If you stayed at the BW or BC area, what is your favorite place to meander to? If not, have you golfed at Oak Trail? Maybe, that isn't your speed either. Do you like to have a relaxation day on your trip or do you GO GO GO?

With any luck we'll be in bed early tonight and well rested. We will need it because tomorrow is PACKED!!!! And it's a VERY SPECIAL DAY for us!!! Tune in next time!
By the way.....Can anyone remember how I spent my day in MGM (or HW Studios...bleh) on my LAST trip to the world??? Bonus points if you do. :cheer2:

Relaxation day???? What is that? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: OK to seriously answer your question, I don't normally have relaxation days. But now that I have bought into the DVC and will be traveling there much more often, I tend to take a break in the mid afternoon.

As for meandering at BC or BW, I would just wander around the lake. You may also want to rent one of those multi-person bike type things and do some loops.

I subscribed to your pre trip a few weeks ago and am just now getting caught up with it! :thumbsup2 Love everything so far! You're certainly doing a lot of 'different' things when you visit the World and I love that! Makes for an exciting pre-trip! ;)
Definitely love those hotel days, though I'm guilty of wanting to GO GO GO all day!!! :rotfl:
Keep us updated!

You look so young! Yummy Illumninated Margaritas! :woohoo:

I feel young and old at the same time. I am turning 25 in July! It is scary because it is a sure sign that I need to start growing up. :rotfl:

MEL:banana:

I sure do and it was not fun. Hopefully no medical emergencies this time around.

You can build robots there? I think we've skipped innoventions EVERY time! How sad!
Yep, did you not read my TR? :rotfl2:

They will probably take at least 2 hours to play 9 holes so don't expect them back very quickly! I know you have a car but they can also get a free cab to the golf course and back, just ask bell services :thumbsup2 Oh and yeah we like some down time too, swimming etc!

I remember, lets hope you don't get sick this year!

You got sick???? I so sorry!!! Waiting...patiently...or not...for more...

OMG, do I ever understand this! Leo AND Gramma are like this - and, actually, so am I to a lesser degree.

I relaly like the YC for meandering. Especially the end near the marina. It's always so quiet and chilled-out.

No golf for me.

Do you need to ask me the last part?! I think I'm the antithesis of GOGOGO!!! :rotfl:

Mel I just read that they've stopped doing the Robots at Innoventions  But they're replacing it with micro cars or something so I'm sure your boys would actually prefer it :rotfl:

THanks JO!

I am going to post an update tomorrow morning...

Oh, and Jen, thanks for the bump. Do you still have Myspace? I wanted to add you but your Myspace addy is gone from your siggie....

YES!!!! Can't wait! Though i guess I won't be losing 30 pounds before I go! HA! :rotfl2: That seemed easier when I had 4 months to go!

I am up early. DH was sleeping away and I was tossing around so I left. Didn't want to wake him. Sorry your tummy hurts.
Have fun at church.
I'm watching the RACE!

Day 7---Installment #1 Oh, no! Our Disney Trip is almost over

So, on this day something exciting is happening! It's a Star Wars Weekend Day! My boys (DH included!!!) are Star Wars FANATICS! Seriously. I can't think of a better activity for them than this. They won't even mind getting out of their beds at 5:30 am..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................wait. What did that say? Did that say 5:30 am? OMG. Yes it did. Well, by the time we all shower, get dressed, eat and transport over to the Hollywood Studios it will probably be around 7:30 am. I don't know too much about this event, but what I DO know is that the people get there EARLY. And they line up EARLY. I don't want to miss a chance to meet our choices.

This particular weekend has as special guests: The Jedi Knight Aayla Secura. Also the man who does the voice of General Grevious. And Warwick Davis, who played Wicket the Ewok. I am not sure on a couple of points. This is our first trip to the Star Wars Weekends.

Does anyone know if you can get FP's for meeting BOTH of the guests? I did read somewhere on the DIS that you have to have EVERYONE in your party with you when you get FP's. In other words you can't take the tickets and get FP's for everyone. They all have to be there.

I am assuming that once the rope drops, we will be "walked" to the Indiana Jone's area where they will be giving out FP's. We will get our times to meet with our choice of people. I think you have to pick a line to get in, so whoever that is--is it! Then we will go off to ride the Tower and RnR. :scared1:

I did not make any ADR's for the afternoon on this day. We will probably utilize one of the counter service areas. Buzz has a favorite over by the TT and RnR. I can't recall the name now.....
In my opinion, HS has the best counter service of any park.

What do you guys think? :confused3

I think by the time the Star Wars Parade rolls around, we should have LARGE cold drinks in hand, a spot in the shade picked out and cameras ready! :woohoo:

So, what do you guys think of the line-up of stars for the SWW? Do you have plans to attend any of them? Have you attended before? What do we need to know?

Tune in next time for installment #2 of DAY SEVEN...

Alright, someone else excited about SWW! Our whole reason for going in June. Wow, I didn't realize we would need to be there so early, so guess we will also. Guess, I haven't planned too well.

We haven't been before, so not much help there.

I'm looking forward to some of the responses you receive.

SWW sounds fun, we are not big enough fans to brave the crowds though. I'll be looking forward to reading all about it though. :goodvibes

SWW sounds like something that DH would like. I can use it as an excuse for another trip once we retire. Thanks for the tip:thumbsup2

Rosies is the place by Tot, RnC that I think you are talking about. They have really good Burgers and Dogs:thumbsup2

They won't even mind getting out of their beds at 5:30 am
OMG  I would shower the night before, I'd also go and get croissants or similar the night before too and eat in the room, that's what we did every day in August and it saves so much time :thumbsup2

As long as you've all entered the park 1 person can have all the tickets and go get FP's for everyone!
