Mel Gibson - Tapes Revealed

Wow, this guy sounds like a true wack-job I've always liked him and gave him the benefit of the doubt a few years back when he supposedly uttered a racial slur although I don't really remember the event.

This tape cannot go unnoticed. He sounds deranged, violent and definately racist. Good for the gf for taping him, if the court allows it, it may well be a felony and his career will go kaboom Apparently, CA laws reads that you can tape discussions relevant to felonies. On the other hand, the court supposedly sealed these tapes and if it comes out that she was the leak,it gets thrown out. Either way, we're all bound to hear the tapes in full and make our own assumptions. Great actor, terrible person!

I think it's awful too. He has lost it. I heard part of the tape on Inside Edition yesterday and all I can say is wow.

He did sound drunk to me too. He was breathing heavy and panting although he wasn't slurring his speech.

Something seems off to me also. The other thing I noticed during the tape, besides him spewing hatefulness and possible violence, was that the wife (I think they are married) remained unbelievably calm, and I thought that seemed odd. And yes, who was doing the taping?

I'm not a Mel Gibson fan, never have been, but I do think something is off.

One the one I heard, it sounded like he called her, she put him on speakerphone and started recording. That's why her voice sounds so clear and his wasn't.

He needs help, though. I can't imagine that much hate coming out of someone - she told him he needed medication and in response, he told her that she needed a baseball bat upside the head. I mean, really, who says that?!

I'm not a Mel Gibson fan, never have been, but I do think something is off.

I have a crazy ex husband and during phone conversations at the end of the relationship I was very calm and he would rant and rave just like Mel was doing. I figured out he (my ex) was crazy and the only way I could remain calm myself was to not yell, and just repeat the same thing over and over.

But, OMG Mel sounded insane and horribly mean!! Never would I talk to anyone like that.

That's the way I feel. I don't know if he will be charged with anything because of the laws surrounding taping of private conversations, as well as the fact that now they are claiming the tape may have been sold to the media.

Beyond that, though, I think Mel has lost his mind. I'm not sure if he fits the profile of a habitual spousal abuser, but over the years he is definitely suffering from something that has turned him into a completely unrecognizable, blithering idiot!

Dementia, psychological disorder, drugs, alcohol, who knows? But something is definitely up. If he is charged with something, I'm sure the Hollywood backers will come to the rescue and he'll be treated for something, rather than go into prison.

Honestly haven't paid much attention to the tapes but Mel Gibson has slowly been going off his rocker for years. It sounds like he may have finally slipped all the way off.

On taping usually you have to notify the person they are being taped unless there's a warrant of course. I don't see spewing hateful things and general nastiness as a felony so I don't see how a judge would. Again haven't paid much attention but he doesn't actually threaten her does he? He says she "deserves" things not that he will do them right? If it's spliced at all that will be discovered pretty darn quick.*
*(not defending him in ANY way, rather defending my own rights. I wouldn't want something illegally obtained to be used against me.)

It's a damn shame, he's extremely talented but there comes a time when people can no longer ignore batpoop crazy and will just stop seeing anything he's in.

1. Did his wife of 29 years spend 29 years making him look good?
2. Has he fallen into a pattern of drug and alcohol abuse?
3. Is he experiencing some type of early dementia or mental illness?

I hope what is going on is "fixable". I have always liked his acting.

Are you sure about that? Just look at Roman Polanski.

I think that Mel just needs some help. But then, who really knows? His ex-wife could have spent years covering up his problems.

Something tells me he wasn't like this with his wife. He's probably a totally different person now, which is why his wife and him separated. I don't think he has dementia I think Mel flew off the deep end because he is a religious zealot. He probaby feels no one is as holy and righteous as he and therefore he is the only one who does anything right. Remember, the man has his OWN chruch.

There are people out there who really matter, meaning that they WILL have an impact on our lives, spewing much worse than what Mel has said.

We are being manipulated by the media.

I don't mean to be cryptic, but there is more important news out there than Mel.

Okay I just saw/heard on GMA where he says he'll "put her in a rose garden." A threat for sure but I think any decent lawyer could twist that to a different meaning. Also the trial lawyer they had on said they needed proof before the tape was made that she was in danger to make the taping legal if I understood him right. All she would have had to do is state, "I'm taping you" and him to say, "Go right the bleep ahead see if I care" to make it legal. Most people who are inflamed like that in my experience will respond that way. He's super rich, a decent lawyer will get the tape tossed.

The tone of the tape changes suddenly and the voice in the second half sounds nothing like the voice in the first half IMHO. Something fishy here for sure. Even inflamed beyond reason the voices should sound similar.
