Mega-events Theme Park Update?

Hello Everyone,

Apologies if this has been answered. I tried searching under "Mega-events" but couldn't find anything recent. Below is a CA update from August 27th. Has DLR commented or changed any of their policies following this update which goes live September 20th? Trying to plan for our Holiday trip. Also wondering if this could change/impact the Holiday Entertainment schedule, which I know was released today. Does anyone see this being an issue for the upcoming holiday season? Thanks!!

Theme parks have always been considered outdoor mega events to the state of California and exempt from county level mega events requirements at the county level. By this definition, Disneyland is recommended to not use self attestation but still can. So Disney would just say if you don't wear a mask outdoors, you are self attesting that you are vaccinated or recently received a negative COVID-19 test. "Recently" is also not defined so if you ever received a negative test result, you could say that was "recently".

The sticky part is only if the state wants to consider Disneyland as an indoor mega event. It's possible a case could be made for Pirates of the Caribbean which probably can get close to 1,000 people inside the building if you include Blue Bayou, the queue, CMs and guests on the ride.

I wouldn't worry too much about it right now. The concern would only come after the recall election in which case Newsom may impose stricter regulations without the fear of losing support.

Thank you very much for that explanation. I'm from out of state and just trying to keep up! It's hard to understand (from my side of the pond) what applies and doesn't apply at any given moment. Thanks for the clarity! I'll continue to keep watch for more/different guidance in the future, especially after September 15th...
