I just contacted one of the officiant's Disney recommends and he wants to meet with us prior to our wedding to get to know each other.. My question is have other done this, if so where have you guys met with him? Do you take him out for dinner??

Thanks :)

Most DFTW couples never meet their officiants beforehand b/c they're coming in from out of town, but I think it's really neat that yours suggested a meeting. One thing you sometimes hear on the boards is that the officiant didn't do the ceremony the way s/he had been asked, so I think meeting with her/him beforehand could be a great way to make a connection and get on the same page.

And I don't think you should feel obligated to buy her/him a meal. You could just meet in one of the common areas at your resort, like the Solarium at the Beach Club. :thumbsup2

We are using Kevin Knox and when we were down in Disney this past May for our planning session we asked if we could meet him. We just met at the WL in the lobby for about an hour and just talked with him and asked him some questions and he asked us some questions.

We had wanted to do this just so we could meet before the wedding. Our ceremony is in Epcot at 9:00am so we figured there would be no time before hand.

We took ours to lunch at GF cafe when we were there in May. I am so glad that I met Joann in advance. Although I don't think it is required to do so, we are happy we did. Since we wanted to meet her, we decided to treat her to lunch.
