Hey everyone
I have some questions about meeting up with my parents when we are staying at AOA. They will be staying off site in a condo but we will be meeting up everyday to go to the parks together. Could they meet us at our Disney resort and then ride the bus with us to the parks? we won't have a car but they will, can they use our parking spot at the hotel? They could park there for the day and ride to the parks with us.
Also, does the hotel provide some sort of parking pass to the guests that we would have to give to my parents? Would they need to provide a reservation number to get through security gates?
Thanks everyone! Hope someone is able to help me out :)

I was about to come post the same question! Will have a friend with a car that will be driving us to Universal one day. Can they come in to AoA to pick us up?

The fact that you won't have a car helps a lot. They will ask you upon check in if you have one and will issue a parking pass with your name and check out date on it. This entitles you to free parking throughout WDW.

Hope this helps.

I had a similar issue on my last stay. I asked at the guard gate what info the guests would need to come in to the resort, and they said the best thing was if they could give my name and my room number. That way they can check to be sure they are actually visiting a guest. I gave this info to the guests coming to see me, and they didn't have any problems at all.

The only issue I can see with them having the parking pass is that the guard is going to expect them to have a guest ID to show as well. They would probably be better off, from a time and aggravation standpoint, just presenting the information at the guard shack and then placing the parking permit in the window once they have entered the lot.

Another option would be to have them pick you up at the resort, drive to the park for the day, and then you take resort transportation back and they just drive off to their condo from the park. I've done that many times when dealing with off property guests - it makes getting to the park very simple in the morning, especially if you are trying to make rope drop.

Thanks Fla4fun... makes sense. I think I would prefer the "honest info" route rather than having them use the parking pass to get in. Appreciate the info.

Absolutely. No big deal. Just have your parents on the first day tell the gate guard they are visiting you (call them with your room number to make it easier) and then give them your parking pass to put in their windshield for the day. You will have to repeat that for the entire visit each day as they won't have a room key to open up the gate so you'll just have to exchange the parking pass. But they will be allowed to park for free and use Disney's transportation for the time. You can have them keep the pass but they would have to stop for the security guard each time anyway as they wouldn't have the gate key.

Transportation to a Disney park is provided in the cost of the admission so them riding from a resort is no big deal.

Yep. I would advise you give the friend your room number and they should be waved through security without a problem.

As long as they have your name/room number, they'll be fine. My dad and my son have both driven to WDW to visit me....at BWV, BLT, Kidani and Pop..never had an issue.
I do like to get that parking permit when I check in though..just in case. Then, if they have to leave the car, they can put the permit on the dashboard.
