Meeting characters more than once?

DD's pretty intuitive, so I'm worried about some of the princess M&G's, knowing she'll see some more than once. I want to keep the magic alive, and I don't know if she'll suspect something?

For example...She'll meet Ariel as a mermaid in the grotto, then at Akershus. She'll see Belle at ETWB and again at Akershus. She'll see Cinderella at 1900, and again at the Rapunzel/Cinderella M&G.

Are the princesses pretty good at improvising here? Like if DD says "Hey, I saw you yesterday!".

How do you do this with your kiddos? Do they ever ask questions?

I'm guessing the characters like Mickey, Minnie, etc. don't talk? so I wasn't as worried here, aside from a change of clothes it's still the same Mickey! We'll see some of them at Tusker, Pete's Silly Side Show, Town Square, etc.

Most "fur" characters don't talk--Mickey at Town Square Theatre is the exception. All "face" characters do talk, and are very good at improvising in these situations.

We've actually had Jasmine have a great interaction with us when DD said "we saw you yesterday at Epcot! Which park do you like better?" And Cinderella has improvised well when we saw her more than once. I think you can tell they,re different people if you try, but we're so busy soaking it all in, getting autographs, smiling and posing, it hasn't been a problem. Even if you saw them in the parade and a meet shortly after, they can fool you pretty good about flying fast in their magic carpet or enchanted carriage.

Good to know. What a great idea too about just saying something nonchalant, like "oh we just saw you yesterday, how are you today?" DD probably wouldn't notice something subtle like that if DH or I said it.

We met some characters multiple times, in Cinderella's case 3 times, and I did sometimes casually mention our earlier meeting of a character when interacting with them again. The characters were very good about it and my kids never suspected a thing. Magic maintained.

We have seen multiple face characters more than once on trips, and the only time my girls would question it would be if it was on the same day. I would just tell them that they helicopter the characters around so they have an opportunity to see as many children as possible. I think because I was so into our trip, and love the magic of everything (the magic of Disney if very contagious), that they never suspected me fibbing, and believed everything I said. :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing. Can you actually hear Mickey talking or is it a struggle. This is on my bucket list!

on our first trip - we met Ariel as a mermaid first thing in the morning then later the same day had lunch at Akershus. I said something (can't remember what) kind of casually and Ariel caught right on. She looked at DD (then age 7) and asked her if she had swum really fast over from MK to see her for lunch. It was Magical! DD couldn't believe that Ariel remembered her!!

If you can slip the princesses a hint they will take it from there!

Yes you can actually hear him talking - it's loud enough for the whole room of people waiting to see him to hear :)

Then there was the time that the tremain family did actually remember me from earlier in the day. Made my trip, and I'm over 30, lol. (I was wearing this shirt, that they made a big deal out of)

I am really surprised that 7 year olds don't realize these are actors dressed as princesses? Or people inside the costumes? Even my 4 year old knew. I'm not saying you have to tell them, but don't be so worried about it? My kids knew and still enjoyed seeing them in multiple places. :)
