Meeting Captain Jack

One of my family's best memories is of Captain Jack on Tom Sawyers Island a couple of years ago. They were 10,8, and 2 at the time. They followed him around for a while, he stole oldest DS's hat for while, signed an autograph on DD's head. Just funny all around. And looked a lot like him. They should really put their heads together and do some kind of meet and greet, or meal, or something at least regularly for the kids. Although he was really good at the wandering fool routine.

Seems like when we've gone since then, we will always see some guy in a Jack Sparrow hat/hair piece, and parts of a costume getting a lot of attention. Its surreal though because he is just a DL guest. When we saw him he was on his cell phone and the other DL guests were confused.

I think you'll just have to go on a Disney cruise...that seems to be the only place where he shows up on a routine basis :cool1:

True, true. We just did a meet and greet with Captain Jack on the Dream in April (on Pirate night). We also had a great interaction with him on the island at DLR (was going to say Tom Sawyer Island, LOL). He was just standing there and no one else was around so the kids got to spend quite a while talking to him. But that was a few years ago.

He was also at DCA during the Halloween Party in 2008 and 2009 (but I don't recall if he was there in 2010 since it was moved to DL).

Jack was at the Halloween party last year (over by RoA), so hopefully he will be back again this year.

One of our favorite memories of Capt' Jack was in 2006 also, my son who is deaf was in his wheelchair and we were waiting in line to ride pirates,
Jack was heading out for meet n greet and stopped at my son and started talking to him I told Jack that he was deaf so Jack started signing to him, my son was so excited that Jack could sign, I have a wonderful pic of my son signing his name to Jack, that will forever be my best DL memory!!!
