Meeting at the marathon Start?

OK--from my faint recollection from 2002, the epcot parking lot is large, and dark and crowded (and possibly very COLD). where is the best place to meet someone???

2 friends of mine are running the marathon and we are all 3 coming in from different resorts (boardwalk, Animal Kingdom Lodge and All Stars). how will we ever find each other???

plus--where are the WISH pace teams planing on meeting? at the corrals? or somewhere else?

Renee if you are wearing WISH shirts you are easy to find. The bright safety florecent yellow/lime green shirts really really stand out.

unfortunately I JUST found this board so I myself dont ahve a WISH shirt. my friends dont ahve them either as they are not DISers at all (and they also have no idea at this point I am running with them!) .. long story but I originally had no intention of even going to WDW in january. then at the end of this summer my DH and I booked the trip to surprize them that weekend to cheer them on at the Marathon. then at the last possible minute I registered--seriosuly it was only a few days before it filled. so we are planning on "bumping into them" at the EXPO --note my friend Brent's wife knows the secret plan so we have been coordinating where to run into them on Thursday) so I wont have a lot of time to coordinate a meeting place on race morning (or tshirts etc.)

Last year many of us decided to meet toward the "left" side where the runners gather kind of near the porta-potties, but not too close as the lines will disrupt our gathering. That worked. Once a few shirts gather we will look like fireflies.

thanks for the offer on the shirt but I am sure an XL will be about 3 sizes to big for me! (I am a womens small or medium depending on how big they run)


I will know better for next time. I have been on this DIS for years but when I first registered was active on the collectors board as a pin trader and generally on the theme parks boards when we had trips approaching. After our DVC purchase I tend to check in there occassionaly. I was directed here after I had a question a few months ago about the marathon that I posted on the theme park board. I honestly never knew half of the forums existed around here! LOL!

Renee--Lily is right, it wasn't hard to spot everyone once the lime green started showing up. I don't have a WISH shirt, either, but most others will have them (or hats, or socks, etc, etc, etc), so it took me about 8 seconds to find everyone when I went through to the "participant side" of the baggage claim tents.
