NEW YORK (AP) -- The sixth season of "Survivor" will be a battle of the sexes, with a tribe of men competing against a tribe of women for the $1 million top prize.

CBS announced details about "Survivor: The Amazon" during "The Early Show" on Monday. The latest installment of the hit reality series, in which 16 strangers try to outscheme and outlast each other in a remote location, begins airing February 13.

Members of the all-male Tambaqui tribe include a triathlon coach, a tax accountant and a rocket scientist. (Seriously, he really is a rocket scientist.)

The women of the Jabaru tribe include a swimsuit model, a deputy district attorney and a guide for deaf children, who is deaf herself.

Previous "Survivor" editions have taken place in Pulau Tiga in Malaysia, the Australian Outback, Africa, Tahiti's Marquesas islands and Thailand.

I wonder how they will make the competitions fair because wouldn't the men have an advantage over the women on the real physical stuff?

I wholeheartedly agree that I hope this one is better than the last. Blah!!!

Jenna, a woman from Bridgeville which is a suburb of Pittsburgh. Having the deaf woman will really be interesting to see how she survives in the jungle. This survivor looks like it'll be much better than Thailand!! Can't wait for Feb. 13!!

My 25 year old dd is applying for the next survivor wherever that may be. She has completed her application and applied for renewal of her passport. Next we shoot the three minute video. Please send some pixie dust her way so she's selected!

I caught that one was a guide for Deaf children, but didn't catch that she was Deaf herself (I only read the top stats, not their full bios). That will make things very interesting, I think! Sounds very cool to see how she does, and I hope she goes far.

Okay, with the twists this time around, I'm going to have to record them...

She is deaf and can has limited hearing and mostly depends on her lip reading skills.
