Meet Our Peter Pan UPDATE* NOW OLIVER!

Meet the newest member of our family. We took in a stray kitty. DD 3 named him Peter Pan (pretty certain it's a boy kitty). Will take him to the vet ASAP to make sure he is healthy and get his shots!

He's out in the garage for the night due to fleas. Will move the crate into the house tomorrow. He's seen Abby; and isn't thrilled with our dog! Will have to see how he and our other cats get along when they meet. If it doesn't work out here my sister will take him after they move.

he is a cutie. My daughter just asked me today if we could get a yellow kitty, lol. I have never had anything other than black cats.

I am hoping to move him into our basement soon. I was fortunate enough to have a flea treatment left for a kitten; but it takes 24 hours to be 100% effective. He also has ear mites; so we cleaned his ears, too already. I do need to keep him isolated from our other cats until we can get him to the vets on Monday. I believe the kitty to be a boy; but that is all we know. Some of the neighbor girls said he was found up in the wooded area on a hill in our subdivision. They were looking for someone to take him in. Of course, how could I say no.

He will be one happy and spoiled cat! I just need to take a few precautions to insure the healthy and safety of the two cats I already have! He has a little bit of the sniffles.

I think it's very nice of you to take in that stray cat. And you are 100% right to keep him out of your house until you know for sure that he not carrying any disease that he could pass onto the cats you already have. He's already better off just by you taking him in, feeding him, and cleaning out his ears. I hope he gets a good bill of health from the vet

P.S. When we got our cat (he wasn't a stray, we bought him from a friend ), he was underweight, sneezing green mucous, and was full of fleas. Our vet gave us the flea drops to use on him, and an oral antibiotic, and within 2 weeks he looked like a totally different cat!

Our new kitty is in the basement bedroom now! The fleas have been taken care of! He's still isolated from our other two cats for safety measures. Once he gets a clean bill of healthy we will intrduce him to Hayley and Charlie. Abby has been in the room to visit him! I think they will tolerate each other! Maybe even be friends if given a little time!

I know DD wants to name him Peter Pan; but nothing is official yet. Just not sure that name fits him, though. Any other suggestions for names?

*** UPDATE****

Here's the update on our new kitty. He just didn't look like a Peter Pan to us; so we asked for your help. Thanks you to everyone for voting! We decided on Oliver!

Oliver went for his checkup today! Well he did not like that blood test at all! He tested positive for roundworms! Yuck! But the flea treatment we gave should have helped with that; and he has been given medicine to take care of these unwanted parasites! We give him more medicine in a week! Glad he has been isolated from our other cats! Abby our dog is not in danger of getting them! Thank goodness! I am pretty sure we have been careful enough not to worry about exposure to them; but will call pediatrician tomorrow to let her know so we can access any risks to dd! Don't want to take any chances with her! Other than that he is healthy!

Fleas are gone at least! Our Vet thinks he is about six or seven weeks old. He weighed just over 3 pounds!
