I just wanted to say thank you for the sympathy everyone gave me after I had to have Boots put down. Our house was extremely depressing for a couple of days and we all cried at the drop of a hat
Anyhow, my dh suggested that we should get another dog...not to replace Boots, but to bring some new life into the house and help my other dog (our golden retriever, Sammie...he kept looking for his buddy) over his depression. I was a bit unsure and a few of my friends had wanted me to adopt another greyhound, but everytime I looked at their's it reminded me of Boots and that was just too hard.
So, I went on Petfinder.com to see what our local shelters had for dogs and found a few that were just too cute for words! I wasn't going to get a puppy, I didn't want to deal with all the chewing and stuff. So anyhow, I contacted the rescue place of where I see all of the cute dogs I was interested in. They don't let you pre-adopt a dog, you come down and see which animal fits with your family. Anyhow, we went down for the meet and greet and I walked in and there was this little ball of fur that was laying on the floor and kept looking at me...problem was...he was a puppy. I was a bit unsure, but after holding him (and him falling asleep in my arms..awww), I was in love, lol.
And yes, I adopted that little bundle of fur that didn't have a name. All the way home we were trying to figure out what name went with him. The kids kept coming up with all of these really weird names and he didn't look like any of them. Finally, I thought of the movie Brother Bear, he looks like a little bear, so we named him Koda. He is such a little love! He copies my golden retriever, when Sammie sits, so does Koda, lol. Sammie seems to enjoy him, still misses his buddy, but now he has someone to play with.
So, this is him (with his shelter buddies). He's the one with the fuzzy ears looking so handsome
