Meeko's Walt Disney World Christmas 2002

After a morning at the Magic Kingdom and an afternoon at the Animal Kingdom, it was time for the third part of my day, an evening at EPCOT.

Thursday (Continued)

It was about 3:45 when I got to EPCOT and unfortunately wasn't feeling that well. I made it through Future World but felt needed to get some rest on one of the benches neer the Lights of Winter. There I listened to Cast in Bronze play for a while before heading on to the United Kingdom. Whie there, I was surprised to see all the shops in the pavilion were all switched around. The signs weren't changed though so it seemed very strange that a shop selling golf and tennis apparel was called "The Toy Soldier".

France was next. There, Pere Noel was finishing up his presentation so I stopped and watched for a while. After that I looked in some of the shops. There was also a new street act in the pavilion instead of the Living Statues which was somewhat of a combination comedy/ acrobatics act which was pretty good. After that it was over to Italy for a quick look around its shops as well.

Since I had reservations later in the evening for the Biergarden, I skipped Germany went to the temporary Spain pavilion that was set up next to it. I still wasn't feeling very well so I decided to take a break here to rest and soak up some of its atmosphere. For only being temporary, it was still a very nice looking area complete with a fountain in the center flamenco music playing throughout the area. I also watched the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom rising over Spaceship Earth. After that, I felt better and reenergized, so it was back to the American Adventure.

I had the Candlelight Processional dinner package so I got into the reserved seating area about 30 minutes before the show. The show was absolutely wonderful. The music was beautiful and Collin Ray, who was the narrator for the evening, did a great job. It's nice to sit and relax for a while and remember what this time of year is all about. It even had "snow" at the end, something I wasn't expecting but was a nice surprise since I wouldn't be able to see it snow at MK or MGM this year. After the show I got few pins at the cart outside and made my way to Germany. Along the way, I saw the masquerade and Living Statues in Italy and watched just a little of their routine.

It was almost time for my PS at the Biergarden so I headed over to Germany. I got seated right away and got to the buffet and back just in time for the show to start. The food was as good as always, as was the show. After dinner I spent some time looking around Germany and Mexico before ending the day by watching Illuminations. After a long day in three parks, I only had two more stops to make. The first being MouseGears to pick up a few souvenirs and then to the bus and directly back to my room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

A busy day and isn't the CP great - thanks for posting!

I'm glad you enjoyed Collin Raye. I was heartbroken that I couldn't get to see him. You wouldn't happen to have any pictures would you?

I love the pictures in your trip report. It really adds a lot to the report. Thanks for taking the time. :D

No, I didn't manage to get any pictures of him. Didn't take many pictures of the Candlelight Procesional since it felt wierd, like I was taking pictures at a church service. I got the one on the post after the show after Collin Raye had left. Besides, whenever he was doing his narration the lighting they had on would have made him made it difficult to photograph him and when he wasn't doing the narration, it was too dark.

Thanks for the reply meeko.
