had posted this on another board and was directed here. hope you can help.

i have to take meds during the day. these meds have to be refrigerated. do the parks have any facilities for storing these meds such as at the first aid station or do i have to bring an ice pack in a small cooler.

thanks for any help

First aid will store your medications for you. But the question is, do you want to bother hiking over to first aid when you want it?

You didn't say which medication you are on but if it is something that has to be timed with meals for example, having to go to first aid, then to a restaurant, etc will add to your wait time after the injection (I assume you would do the injection at first aid).

During hot weather, I use a frio pack to keep my insulin and Byetta cool. I wouldn't trust it to keep my unopened supply but it does a great job of keeping the open pens cool. I just tuck the frio into my fanny pack or back pack.

If you are on medication that has a more controlled temperature range than the insulin, you might need more controlled refrigeration. Then first aid might be a better solution for you.

Just agreeing with the other poster.
First Aid will keep your medication you in a refrigerator. There is a First Aid station at each park and they are open from park opening until park closing.

But, as was already mentioned, they may not be the most convenient place to where you are at the time you need your medication.
