Mediterranean Excursions

Just rereading the excursions last night. Interesting how many use the phrase "stand in the shadows of....", which pretty much means that you aren't going inside to see it. :headache:

Aint that the truth!! Most of the excursions to Monaco mention the Aquarium, only one of them says anything about actually going INSIDE:teeth:

Alas, once again DCL is getting way to greedy on these excursions - most are WAY overpriced. I think that we will be doing more on each of our shore days than the excursions offer. We're doing ALL ports on our own. Only in a couple we have arrange for a tour - most of the time we really will be on our own!! And this will be a first for us - we usually only do DCL excursions and if we venture off of the ship we don't go to far or for to long. - this will be the trip we "grow up" and spread our wings - otherwise it's going to be one huge Crash and Burn experience.

Hi,

For those who are interseted whe you visit the nou camp you can pay to just go in the futbal museum or actually pay a bit extra to go on an actual tour of the staduim. I emailed them today and got this reply - Hope its useful

So.... is everyone reserving their excursions first or Palo when doing it online? I was thinking it is more important for me to reserve the excursions. So I was gonna reserve Rome & Pisa first. I got a private guide for Naples. Then, I'd go and reserve Palo brunch & dinner. After that I'd go and reserve the other excursions. Do you think that is a good plan? Any suggestions for a method of attack?

Thanks...

Any one who has booked already - what did you find?

The Med is going to be soo different so I wouldnt wish to say anything, I guess the main reason people are going os for the main sightseeing,
The popular ports andexcursions might go quickly, On standard Cruises i have known Dolphin trips to sell out quickly.

Palos goes fast, but will have 3/4 days on the 10 or 11 day run, for Brunch and 11 nights of dinner so more availablity than 3/4/7 cruises. But will go fast.

I wouldnt wish to call it, myself, go with your personal prioritiy.

I have done Palos before if I miss it I miss it, I do not wish to miss some excusions, i can book Palos in 2008

Hi All

I don't know where I read it but someone had 2 rooms and was having trouble booking excursions for the 2nd room. Disney sorted the problem for her in 2 or 3 days. She then tried to book excursions for the 2nd room but the excursions she wanted were sold out. So I take it from this that they are going pretty fast. The post did not mention if it was at 90 days or 75 out. I hope it was at 75 days out or all the 1st time cruisers may be very disappointed.

I know dcl usually holds back some reservations for Palo so that people can book on board.

Does anyone know if they hold back excursion places?

I would be amazed if Disney didn't open more spaces on excursions. It' s mostly a matter of getting another bus, driver, and guide. Considering that they will make dollars on every tour sold, I can't see them 4 or 5 months out saying that the excursions are filled. That just doesn't make money sense. Nor customer sense. You could possibly have someone say that since they can't get the excursions they want at this point, they may as well drop out. I imagine that almost up to the point of the cruise departure, you will be able to get on or in to almost every excursion.

Hi - I was the person with the problem with the second room. It was 90 days out. The one I really wanted was the VIP Rome and Vatican; I even called DCL and explained what had happened but they said sorry it is completely full. I can keep checking back in case anyone cancels BUT I have to cancel current Rome excursion just to check if VIP has opened up (I currently have Highlights of Rome and Vatican which is almost the same, just no VIP treatment). This is what Disney representative told me. Either way I'm going to enjoy whatever I get - it's my first trip to Europe ever! I did get a Palo dinner but no brunch. I think it's true they only let you reserve one online for Palo.

Hi

Question for Excursion : How we pay for it? when the 90 days open, book it and how to pay for it? Will it on the bill at Stateroom number? Or must pay now?

Just wonder

Hi Helen

I think they must have keep some for 75 days booking. Similiar to Palo? what happen if other people don't have computer?

To be unfair if sold out and first timer cruiser don't get it - sound bad??? :confused3

I hope first time cruiser get something as their pleasure like us last year.

All pre booked excursions are charged to the credit card you provide when you are boarding. So plan accordingly!:scared1:

I personaly believe that they should be charged to your room on the day of the excursion!

Thank you for your advise.

But what about dollars money as it must pay by credit card? As I got exchange money today euros and dollars!!

From my experience if you want Palo brunch book it first as we could not get that at all and only booked three excursions so that did not take too long.
Managed to get Palo dinner but only I think because it is on the Rome night - if I can get brunch will cancel the dinner.
