Mediterranean Excursions

All of the UK people...I received a planning DVD this weekend on top of the book I received a couple of weeks ago. Keep your eyes open for that too. I am on the 6/16/07 cruise.

Keep on top of those disney folks. You should get everything too, they can afford the postage!

:)
Steph

Thank you for the heads up!

Can I just ask what is the DVD about - is it a general planning DVD or is it connected to the med?
Also did you specifically request it - or did they just send it to you?

Will watch my post box eagerly ;)

We got the DVD also, it just came in the mail!

Dont worry, you are not missing much!

;)

It covers the ports and reminds you what to bring and has a section for kids. It's not anything exciting. Just the brochure we received on tape basically. BUT..You should still receive it. Just because you live overseas doesn't excuse them from not sending. :)

Thanks Steph,

I love get things in the post from Disney, it just gets me even more excited (if thats possible;) )

Does anyone know where the chocolate museum is in Barcelona?

We are staying there 4 nights pre-cruise and I've been making a list of what I want to do. I cant seem to find it in my guide book?

Thanks
;)

Help! Does anyone know if the excursion for Florence and Pisa includes time for a visit to Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence? From the excursion description, I think this is an escorted tour with some free time in Pisa only. I see that we can pre-book the tickets to visit the museum.

Anyone? :confused3

Just browsing excursions and ran across this for the beach in Palermo

"Please be aware that swimwear and other attire are optional at Mondello Beach. Nudity or topless bathing may be observed." :magnify:
and then

"Guests are encouraged to bring sunscreen, . . ." :headache: and then

Due to limited availability, Guests are encouraged to book early. :moped:

Interesting excursion!

If you are doing any excursions alone in Rome---Watch out for pickpockets and gypsies....They are all over the place and they are good at what they do.....Also it is very hot in Italy in the summer and ice is not available like it is here....so take a little cooler and some ice with you......also you will not get water for free in a restaurant , so take some bottled water with you too.

Additional Info on the Chocolate Museum: It's near the Picasso Museum (or at least in that same part of town known as "La Ribera")

Interesting excursion!
Look at most of the other beach day excursions - there's the same "disclaimer".

Remember, we're NOT in the USA any more. Most of the world doesn't consider womens breasts at the beach a " :headache: " Look upon it as a "Perk" of being in Europe!!  And your kids won't turn into raving fiends by being exposed to this (the dad's might be another story:rolleyes1 - I still don't know how I never :sad1: got the lovely young lady sunning herself at Orient Beach in any of my beach pictures:confused3 )

Well the sunscreen "reminder" is very important - especially for us guys. At Orient Beach there was a guy that decided to "let it all hang out" at the nude beach (it was NOT me!!) We saw his backside from a distanct but his "cheeks" were FLAMING RED!! don't know how he sat down for the following week. If his front side was like his back side, all I can say is "Ooooouuuuuuuch!!"

Remember the signs in Italy will mostly be in Italian, NOT English:teeth: and in France most of the signs will be in French - go figure.

Hi - I was wondering about that too so I emailed DCL. I was told "The following two shore excursions include seeing the "David", Florence on your Own, Florence And Michelangelo. The Florence & Pisa excursion does not include the "David" " which means these are the only 2 that includes the Accademia. By the way, I could only get Florence and Pisa on one of my rooms; the other had a problem which was cleared up 2 days later. By then I could no longer get it so I booked Florence and Michelangelo instead. I figure 3 of the group will go to each. My DH really wants to see the real "DAVID" . Also I ran into trouble with the VIP Rome and Vatician tour - same thing, I go 3 for the first room but was completely sold out for the other. I called DCL and begged but to no available. Still all and all I am so excited! :yay:

Thanks. That is a shame. Due to time and travel we are no able see David and Pisa. Decisions decisions!!!
