Cat 9 Deck 2: Split Bathrooms, Natural Light from the port hole, Close to the water, no waiting for elevators when returning from shore excursions (only one flight of stair up - walk!). And on the Magic these are larger (noticeably) than the "same" rooms on the Dream / Fantasy (It's amazing how much extra room you get with 6-12 inches here and there!!)
With the Med Cruises being Port intensive (therefor not even on the ship that much) that having a veranda is not that big of a deal (well we never pay for a veranda anyway). Long days in port with the heat and humidity (for the july / aug sailings) means that you are using the room to get cleaned up for dinner & shows, then sleep until morning when you get up, have breakfast and head out for the day.
