There are 4 of us (2 adults DS8 DS11). We have been on the Dream and this is our first trip on the Magic. What is your favorite stateroom and why?

TIA!

Cat 9 Deck 2: Split Bathrooms, Natural Light from the port hole, Close to the water, no waiting for elevators when returning from shore excursions (only one flight of stair up - walk!). And on the Magic these are larger (noticeably) than the "same" rooms on the Dream / Fantasy (It's amazing how much extra room you get with 6-12 inches here and there!!)

With the Med Cruises being Port intensive (therefor not even on the ship that much) that having a veranda is not that big of a deal (well we never pay for a veranda anyway). Long days in port with the heat and humidity (for the july / aug sailings) means that you are using the room to get cleaned up for dinner & shows, then sleep until morning when you get up, have breakfast and head out for the day.

I agree with jrabbit. We love deck 2 on the classic ships. We were in 2108 for our Med/WBTA B2B and it was perfect.

I don't have a favorite room specifically but in general Deck 2 Oceanview is my favorite as well. Big portholes so you can see light/the weather/goings on in port etc., split bathrooms, quiet floor, but more cost effective than a verandah because of the amount of time we spend out of the room.

We also really enjoy the deck 2 staterooms on the Wonder/Magic and I have us booked in a 9C/deck 2 for our Med cruise next summer. We have enjoyed the far forward cabins as they have a little room in them due to the curvature of the ship :)

We agree with others above - the Med tends to be more port intensive and while we'd love a verandah, the cost for us vs. using for excursions and experiencing other things, doesn't win out for the price difference. Deck 2 is just fine and we've been quite pleased with it and have no regrets!

For other sailings that aren't so port intensive and where the price difference from oceanview to verandah isn't so big, we like the 7A's 6634 and 7620 but we are a family of three.

Have fun choosing!

Thanks all for your input! I think my main concern for thinking balcony is the space. There's quite a bit less square footage compared to the Dream oceanview room we have had (over 20sq feet) and being so close to the water when looking out the window.

Another vote for deck 2! We were in 2114 this past August for our Med cruise, and it was perfect! Very near the elevators - but not too close that any traffic noise bothered us. We like being in the aft of the ship so we could just hop in the elevator upto deck 9 to the drinks station. I would happily stay in that vicinity again.

Claire :)

We were on deck 2 this past summer on 12 nights British Isles and loved deck 2. Only one flight and with tired kids and even a stroller it was so nice. OnFantasy always on deck 6 or 8 but port intensive cruises deck 2 was perfect for us.

I'm a fan of decks 5,6,or 7 midship(5B) balcony. I have seasick issues so midship helps with that and being on those floors keeps you close to top decks too, your kinda right in the middle. We use the stairs and try to avoid elevators.
