we're complete novices at cruising ... but my MIL and SIL want to go on an Mediterranean cruise next summer (with two kids ages 6 and 11). MIL will want a separate cabin. We tentatively suggested a Disney cruise and offered to go too, they said ok. So in total we're looking at 3 cabins, 1 for 1 adult, 1 for 2 adults and 1 for 1 adult and 2 children

I've been looking at websites and have ended up confused ...

Sooooo ... any advice as to the cheapest way to do this ...

we're luckily close to both Liverpool and Manchester airports so I'm assuming grabbing flights to Barcelona won't be too hard, but how should I go about booking the rest (assuming they're ok with the prices!)

Any thoughts??

You have a choice of who to book with, although the cost of the actual cruise will be the same whoever you book with. The only difference is that if you book with a travel agent, they often give you an onboard credit for booking with them - we have $200 for our 7 day western Carribean cruise in October.

The Disney Cruise Line website http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ has a mine of information, and you can get prices. We booked through Dreams Unlimited (who sponsor the Disboards http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/, so that we got the credit. It is very useful to have an agent you can email requests and questions to too!

I am sure you would love a Disney cruise, we did a 3 day to see if we enjoyed the whole cruise concept, and we are hooked!

Definitely hover around the Disney Cruise thread on the Disboards, you will pick a mine of information.

If you have any more questions, fire away :goodvibes

ooh thanks for those links ... will investigate ... I'm a little nervous about seasickness ... but hopefully it won't be a problem!

I am sure you will be fine! We spent most of the time forgetting we were on a ship. I don't know if you have cruised before, but honestly, these boats are so big you barely feel a thing! Good luck with your searches :)

we did the med repositioning cruise and got off the ship just a few weeks ago and it was amazing

my first choice to book with would be dreams unlimited, we've booked with them 3 times now and had excellent customer service but you can also price this up with flights included with uk agents such as iglu cruise and virgin cruises, you may want to do this if you want a price in UK pounds and not want to go down the diy route of booking cruise and flights seperate

enjoy your planning
