Has anyone visited this place for dinner? How was the entertainment and food???:bounce:

BigDaddy, I rate MT as one of the best dinner-shows in town, if not the best. The setting and atmosphere are first-rate, and the show is quite thrilling, with lots of horse-riding and sword-fighting stunts. There are some neat special effects and a real join-in spirit of fun. The food is nothing special - vegetable soup, ribs, chicken and baked potato, and apple pie - but there is plenty of it and the service is pretty slick. You also get to look round Medieval Life before the show, so it works out at very good value for money, IMHO.

Note that there are several other Medieval Times locations besides Orlando.
Four that I know of are:
New York city area
Chicago (northwest suburbs)
Southern California
Toronto

DH, DD and I went to the one in Myrtle Beach, SC a couple of years ago. We really enjoyed the food and the entertainment. It was a lot of fun and definitely worth the visit.

Went there in Toronto, absolutely a great time. Something you must experience.

I was there a couple of years ago with a large group of adults. It was quite alot of fun. I know my children would love this place. Lots of action (with knights/horse challenges. It is truely amazing to watch them at times.)

You sit around in an arena like setting, divided into color groups to cheer for your "Knight". You are in tiers/with the tables in front of you. (Bleacher style rows).

The food isn't bad, a little greasy if I remember right, but well worth the price for the entertainment alone.
Be expecting to see something you have probably never seen before. (Unique).

Have fun. I hope to take my family to the one in CA. So much to do at WDW, not really enough time for me to spend time here vs. other options. (I'm closer to LA, and cheaper to get to more often).

My wife and I will be visiting the Orlando castle for dinner next month, and I am looking forward to it. We last visited several years ago, and my wife was not keen on the lack of utensils and not entirely sold on the show. However, we were able to score two free tickets, so you can't scoff at free food and entertainment. Plus, it will be cool to see if the show has changed much in the past five years.

I see the address listed as Kissimmee. Didn't there use to be one on I-Drive?

As far as I know Medieval Times has always been in Kissimmee.

You may be thinking of Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede which was across from the Premium Outlet Mall and just off I-drive. That closed suddenly several years ago, sat empty for quite some time, and more recently was torn down for an expansion of the outlet mall.

(There is also a Pirate's Dinner Show somewhere along I-drive, but that doesn't include horses. And Arabian Nights in Kissimmee, but I think that closed last year.)

It was about 15 years ago, but I thought I remembered one close to the Orange County convention center.

It is in kissimmee on 192. I've been once...ok food, fun entertainment. The no utensils was the only thing that bothered me a little:)

Its been in its current Kissimmee location since it opened about 30 years ago,I've seen it countless times since I was a kid as we drove into Orlando.I even went to Medieval Times for Grad Nite 20 years ago. There's been countless dinner shows in Orlando over the years and a lot of them have closed,I really think the one you're referring to is King Henrys Feast that was located on I Drive, this one was opened from 1986-2000.

I haven't been to the Florida one, but there is one in New Jersey (very close to NYC) that I go to every year. It's a great show and good food. I'd imagine it's more fun for adults that frequent the bar, but I always go as a chaperone with 200 middle schoolers.

Hi,
We are thinking of taking our boys to Medieval Times Orlando (Kissimee) next June.

Are any of the VIP (Royalty etc.) upgrades worth the price?

Thanks.

Hi Meech! We went to Medieval Times this past Spring (me and my 7 year-old daughter and 10-year-old son). We enjoyed it very much. I had some sort of VIP upgrade included with the tickets I bought through the military. We received a free photo, which was nice, but best of all we were seated in the front row. It gave my kids a great up-close view of all the great horsemanship and fighting. My daughter was also selected by our knight as his "Queen of the Tourney," which was awesome. I'm not sure that would have happened without being in the front row. A lot of people complain about the lack of utensils. If that is a problem for you, just remember to bring your own and a Ziploc bag!

Lack of utensils won't be a problem, my kids will get a kick out of it. Glad you had a good experience, it sounds like it may be worth it to get the front row upgrade.

Thanks!

Is the kids entree the same as the adults?

As I recall, the children had the same meal and approximate portions as me.
